Used 2002 Audi A4 Sedan Consumer Reviews
One of the worst cars I have ever owned
Loads of electrical gremlins. Spontaneously the alarm used to go off when I first got it. Radio problems, speakers cutting in and out, tweeter still busted. Dealers want $300 to replace a battery, recently paid $475 to diagnose and replace 3 feet of vacuum hose for a check engine light. Brakes were shot in 36,000 miles (my other car was good for 50,000 so it is not my driving) and tires the same. It was fun to drive when I bought it. Should have bought reliability. Maybe mine was just a lemon but I would not shop Audi/VW again.
So Long, Audi
Bought this car almost two years ago from an Audi dealership. Sadly, the engine has failed due to the infamous oil sludge build-up issue in the 1.8T engine. Car was always maintained at Audi dealer. The car is beautiful...but it will be moving on to greener pastures with someone who would like to put a new engine in it. Timing belt also had to be replaced, ignition coils, etc. Too many recalls for "Truth in Engineering", Audi.

A4
Before I made my purchase, I was deciding between the A4-3.0, BMW-330i, Acura TL-S, Mercedes Benz C320, and the Infiniti-G35. I must admit, for the price range, I could get the G35 and spank every other car on this comparison list. BUT, I went with the A4 because it was well rounded. Acceleration was under 7 seconds, has AWD Quattro, I love the interior, Dolphin Gray is a great color, double exhaust, and class. Something about spending 38k on an Infiniti just doesn't feel right.
great car
Was looking for an A4 or 325. here's what i found with 2 similarly equipped cars (both with sport pkg, prem pkg, auto, xenon): -BMW WINS: 1. BMW inline 6 2. power seats w/ memory. no excuse for this not being available on the 1.8T. -AUDI WINS: 1.styling (this is close). 2.interior. we got a dolphin gray exterior and a "platinum" interior. Beautiful. 3. various features...in-dash 6-CD changer, standard. dual-zone climate control. 4. Price. (diff of $3000) 5. 4-yr free maintenance. however, BMW has matched this for their 2003 models
One Test Drive and You'll Be Hooked
Value to feature content incredible like std in dash 6 disc cd, subwoofer, stability system, dual zone a/c, 6 airbags. Got sports pckg plus sunroof. Rides a bit harsh when road is rough, other than that, I get close to 500 miles on 17 gal tank, and an incredible smooth and quiet ride (3k rpm at 70mph). Can't believe this is only a 1.8 engine. My former BMW can't touch refinement and price/value ratio.
