This car is beautiful! Love the overall shape of the car and design of new front grill. It has a great engine under the hood. I have the V6 and when I want power, it provides plenty in sport mode. When I just want to cruise, I put it in econ mode and turn on the adaptive cruise control to enjoy the ride. The adaptive cruise control is probably my favorite feature - saves the accelerator to brake action in bumper to bumper traffic since it slows down based on the car in front of you. I also love the safety features. If I don't brake in time, I get a warning that flashes up on the screen, and if I still don't stop, it stops for me (accidentally tested this out - it works but wouldn't try it on purpose). The android auto is very intuitive and lets me do multiple functions at once, like listening to music and navigation. I get text messages up on the screen while I'm driving, which prevents me from even thinking about pulling out my phone. Google assistant works with android auto as well!! Some people complain about the dual screens, but I have not had an issue with them. Android auto and navigation shows up on the top screen. Music and temperature control options are on the bottom screen. It's really nice having the two screens so you can see both navigation and music details at the same time. The car also has two settings for driver seat placement - so my seat is automatically adjusted to my personal settings when I get in. (though it would be nice if the steering wheel would do the same thing - so now that's what we battle over). Overall, I love this car!! Update: I've now had this car over a year and still LOVE every bit of what I wrote initially! The only annoyance is that the shifting is weird at about 35mph. If I'm going a steady speed, it shifts up and/or down really hard like it cant decide what gear to be in, causing a jerking motion for the passengers in the car. Not sure if this is due to it being a 9 speed or something is wrong, but I've read other reviews from people that had a similar experience.

I have been a loyal Acura customer for the past 19 years and have owned 7 cars. A few TSX and TL’s and TLX. I am having an issue with the paint on my 2019 TLX, San Marino Red. I have had spots that seem to permanently stick to the surface. The dealer has attempted to buff them out, but you can still see them under the paint. Most recently, they buffed the clear coat off several sections and had to re-paint those areas. The service manager agrees that it must be something in the paint, yet Acura Client Services is claiming that it must be hard water spots. I have another Acura RDX parked next to mine which is cleaned with the same water and cleaning supplies and there is no issue. I also never had an issue with previous cars. The rep is trying to say it’s because I had darker cars in the past and never the red. Sounds like a bunch of b.s. instead of investigating this further. I feel something was missed at the factory. I was already missing a part to hold the back folding seat in place. I could literally pick the top of the back seat up and almost pull it out. It was missing the bolt that holds up in place. How could it leave the factory like that? So I don’t have much confidence in the quality aspect of this vehicle right now. Anyway, although I stood strongly behind Acura in the past, This will be my last Acura since I am no longer going to tolerate this lack of customer service and failure to do the right thing for the customer.

A good deal of everything at a value price

Bear in mind I stepped down fr9m a 2014 Silverado to a 2019 TLX. First thing is the value price. It is now July of 2021, and i purchased a 2019 TLX 2.4l base with 24,000 miles for $25,000. No BMW Audi, or Benz was even remotely in that price range. Neither are they at new msrp. So why is that not a factor in editors reviews? Some of the cons are comical. Interior not as good as audi, infotainment not as good as BMW, looks not as good as Mercedes, etc... HELLO, Acura never intended to compete with them. Acura has always been a value luxury car. I previously owned a 2001 Integra GSR (also a value at the time), and this car is bringing back memories (more than the ilx which i didnt like). The confusing multi screen? Cmon. Ive been learning it fine after a few days. Its very quick and east to figure iut, just have to get the memory going and it will become 2nd nature.the 4 banger is great and brings back the joys of vtec. Power is higher in the rev band. Starts off normal and then wooosh. Im keeping it in sport mode and getting 30-33 mpg's. The 8 speed transmission is great and finds the right gears. Havent experimented with the paddles too much. A slew of standard STANDARD safety features are welcome and the car is quite nimble. The seats are ridiculously comfortable and the cabin fits my 6'0 240lb frame nicely. Backseat can fit adults ok, but anyone over 6 foot may be uncomfortable. Again, smaller means more value. This is more of a compact midsize comoared to others. Has some features that would significantly raise the price of a german car. And another point, a honda is going to be more reliable and cheaper to maintain than a german car. Made in the USA unlike several GM's made in Mexico. My one gripe is that I had 4 6.5" kickers and a 10" kicker comp sub. It blows away the regular sound system (didnt listen to the upgraded els system. But, I yanked that stuff out of the truck and it will be going in the TLX next. Ive always said, why get a bose, beats, or ELS when you can get better (kicker, jbl, JL, etc...) for cheaper with actual power and better sound stage. Not knocking factory upgraded systems, but ive heard numerous silverado owners rip out the bose system for better. Save your money and get aftermarket and just pay someone to install. You'll get better and probably save $1,000. Android audio is great, I plug in my phone and google maps pops right up on the big screen. In conclusion, the base model gives you a better transmission (so ive heard) than the six cylinder, over 30mpg's, a car that is still quick, and a boatload of safety and convenience features. Any which way you go, if you have the money, go get a BMW, Mercedes, Audi, or Lexus. If you want an amazing car that finishes a bit below, great reliability (as good as Lexus) and an extra $7500 in your pocket, go Acura. If anything, the Acura will "probably" out last the german turbos. And I can only imagine a BMW repair bill.

This vehicle is the best TL/TLX model Acura has put out yet, I have owned several over the last 15 years. For a midsize sporty luxury sedan it has outstanding performance, reliability, exceptional standard safety with the Tech package, and exceptional value on all of that relative to other makes and models. Earlier models with the 9A transmission were abit jerky but this 2019 TLX has it right, not sure if it was just a software upgrade but they fixed the slightly jerky tranny issue from earlier years. Sport and Sport+ modes give an exceptional performance advantage that you need to spend 10s of thousands more to get from other makes/models. Go test drive for yourself you will be impressed, by not only Sport and Sport+ performance, but the AcuraWatch driver assistance safety suite on the Tech package; it is second to none, especially at the price point, that Acura offers for this vehicle. My initial quality and reliability has been excellent, and going forward I'm confident that the reliability and resale are likely to be up to the typical high standards that the Acura/Honda reputation provides.

When the TLX came out in 2015, I thought it would be gone in a few years. But, now they're releasing the 2019 model year, and sales are skyrocketing. But why? Well, because for 33 grand, you can have leather seats, dual-zone A/C, an infotainment system, and 206 horsepower. And, for $6400 more, you can get an extra 84 horses, and the A-spec pack, which enhances the car even more. That's all jolly and good, but is it worth it? Do you really need to spend the extra 6400k in return for a few more horses and a package you're not sure you really need? No, you don't. All the A-spec package does is make everything look more sporty by painting it black, and adding a few stickers that say A-spec. And, in reality, you don't need the extra power either, because 206 horses under the bonnet is enough to outrun the police and their ancient Fords, do donuts in car parks, and for the daily commute to the office. Perhaps you like to shake it up a bit, in which case, the A-spec would be perfect for you. But if you're just a normal person looking for a car that's stylish yet sensible, and won't leave you looking like a yobbo, then go for the 206hp TLX. You'll like it better.
