No travel for this baby on gravel
We got a brand new Acura RDX Aspec in April 2023. Before that we drove an Audi Q5 that we had for 10 years but it started consuming oil and we were also disappointed about it rusting. The Acura seemed great price for everything that was included and we absolutely liked the looks, size and drive. We have to cover 2 miles of gravel road to get home and thats where the problem arose… Every time going to town there was gravel stuck in between the brake pads and the steel ,,dust pan’’ behind it , causing high pitched sqeaking and sqeeling. This dust pan is mounted to close to the brake pads and pieces of gravel get caught in there and won’t release until they’re worn off enough tocome loose. We endured the situation for 3 months and after the dealership didn’t come up with a solution we decided to bite the bullet and trade it in for a different brand. Another thing we noticed is that there’s a lotta road noise coming through the bottom of the car. Don’t get me wrong it is a great car but don’t buy it when you have to cover gravel roads on a regular base. It really is a design flaw imho. We now drive a new Mercedes GLC 300 and no gravel problems at all. Pricy mistake.. I hope my fellow farmers and country men/women read this and learn from it instead of peeing on the electric fence😊

Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS)
I HATE the Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS). I’ve had problems with it braking when it shouldn't. It’s stops so abruptly that I get whip-lash and my seatbelt caused bruises. The cheaper Honda’s get a simple button to press to turn it off, but the expensive Acura’s do not have a button to simply press. You have to go through 4 different settings. There’s no option to keep it permanently off & it comes back on every time you start the car. In addition to the CMBS, I do not like the idle stop. Again no way to keep it permanently off. At least it has a button I can press each and every time. And why no rain sensor? My 15 year old car has zero features but has a rain sensor.
Despise radio system
I love the sound system but trying to use the touchpad and navigating around setting up your favorites etc is impossible and time consuming. Just leased have it for 2 weeks and I am going to dump car because of the radio system.
