Terrific Vehicle
I am owner of 2014 RDX Tech with 115K miles. The only issue I had with it was both rear shocks had to be replaced during warranty...a known problem. But even though I love my 2014, I shopped around other SUVs, Lexus RX and NX, Toyota Highlander, Audi Q5. One test drive in Sport + mode put such a smile on my face I was hooked. I am 65 and do a lot of highway driving so seat comfort, audio options, navigation, adaptive cruise control, road noise and pricing all played roles in my selection. There were dealer incentives in place to get price of SH-AWD Advance to just under $42K, fully loaded. That sealed the deal. The navigation pad can be tricky trying to scroll between screens but within a screen, very easy. The voice recognition works better than any I've seen and in fact I use it the most. The seats are very comfortable and I really appreciate the seat coolers during the hot SC summer months. The road noise is minimal and I'd say better than the both Lexus and even Audi. The acceleration in Sport+ is excellent! Makes driving fun again. All of the tech works very well, adaptive cruise control is excellent and makes highway driving much less tedious. My three major complaints are: 1) Mediocre Continental OEM tires that I'll change out to different Contis at first chance 2)Mediocre gas mileage, ~22 overall vs nearly 25 with 2014 RDX and 3) Android Car play wouldn't display Waze app until I put Android Carplay app into Developer status (Google for instructions, it actually worked!). I kept the 2014 RDX (daughter drives it) so garage now has (2) RDXs in it...and I be happier.
JUST MISSING THE MARK
I am nearing the end of my 1st yr of ownership and 10k miles. This vehicle drives wonderfully, and handles well. The cabin is very comfortable and the cargo area generous. Visibility is very good as well. Plenty of tech is also included, and that's where we hit our first glitch... The touch pad controller is not only annoying, but it's just silly! C'mon guys... you can do WAY better with a simple problem like this.Next problem is fuel efficiency... it stinks. I get 19- 19.5 around town in COMFORT mode, and 25 on the highway when I baby the thing! After driving an Audi with a 3.0L supercharged engine which gave me 23 - 24 around town and a whopping 34 on the highway, there's just no excuse for this poor mileage. I feel the car may be mildly underpowered. Lastly, and most concerning: The brakes. Shortly after purchasing, I was driving in mildly damp conditions and I heard a grinding noise in the front end as I came to a stop. It was repeatable, and occurred especially when there was dampness, and cool temps. I returned to Acura and was told there was nothing wrong. The noise continued, and then I was told that it was the composition of the pads which were supposedly new, and the Acura was working on a "fix". I am almost 1 yr into owning it and no fix is available. A little research will reveal that this problem existed in the 2019 model as well, and it seems many folks are not happy with Acura's attention to this. Additionally, I would like to know WHY my salesman DID NOT DISCLOSE this to me before I purchased??? Rhetorical of course... I can assure Acura that I will get this fixed or they will be buying this car back from me.... Other than that, I love it !

Five Star Promise, Two Star Execution
Considering an RDX? It looks amazing on paper, no doubt. Educate yourself a bit further, though, and google "RDX Class Action Lawsuit." Read about it and you'll find that far from being a nuisance suit, this details the daily frustrations and safety issues faced by many RDX owners, myself included, with an electronics system that simply doesn't work as advertised. The freezes, shut downs, error messages and sporadically non-functioning features await you on every drive. Even with the latest firmware, Apple CarPlay continues to quit on a random but consistent basis for no reason while driving, and usually in the midst of navigating yourself on a tricky patch of road while using either Apple Maps or Waze. Or while using Acura's own native navigation system, you'll notice that the directions on the main screen and those on the heads-up display are suddenly different and conflicting. (That's if your HUD is actually working--mine keeps quitting sporadically, much like Apple CarPlay.) Then there's Acura's all-new for RDX touchpad interface. It actually works wonderfully, and as advertised, IF you use it with Acura's native apps. Switch to CarPlay or Android Auto, however--which is likely what you'll use almost all the time if you have a higher end smartphone--and you'll discover the touchpad interface wasn't designed for that. Instead, you'll navigate your screen selections via an incredibly glitchy cursor that makes the Lexus interface--widely known as "worst in the business"--look amazing by comparison. And I should know because my car prior to the RDX was a Lexus. This is all tremendously disappointing, and even worse: Acura has no fix for any of this. Things have gotten somewhat better since the RDX first hit showrooms in 2019 as Acura continues to revise the firmware. But they're still a long way from done, and given the MANY sporadic problems that remain, there's no guarantee that they'll ever be resolved. As I said at the outset, the RDX is an amazing car on paper. But a car on paper is not what you're buying. And there's a huge difference between offering buyers a lot of car for their money, and offering them a lot of car that works as it should.
Happy customer!
Really love the car; drives and handles great, responsive and solid ride! The dash is awesome, everything within reach and easy to read. Only minor drawback is the infotainment system (still new for me), some features not as intuitive as my 2015 CRV Honda (also miss the passenger camera with use of right turn signal). Using YouTube was more helpful than the owners manual, highly recommend. The seats, doors and dash are beautiful, well constructed, high end quality. Side mirrors do not automatically fold inwards when car is turned off but this is minor. The sound system is amazing! I did opt for the 20inch tire/wheel set; they are gorgeous! Enjoy!

Love it. Highly recommend.
This is a fabulous car. I haven't had it for a month but I have already driven 4000 miles. The infotainment system is just fine- took just a day to get used to it. I use Apple Car Play and Waze constantly with no issue. The adaptive cruise control is amazing- such a safety benefit- and makes highway driving such a breeze. The sound system is incredible- try to listen to HiFi recordings to really appreciate it (I found playlists of these on Tidal). The seats are very comfortable, the skylight is wonderful. The only little glitch is that the "put out your foot and open the trunk with no hands" mechanism doesn't like flip flops- we find it only works with heftier shoes. Coming from 20 years of minivans I do wish it had more cupholders but you can't have it all, and this is close.
