Performance and comfort

2003 Toyota Camry Sedan SE V6 4dr Sedan (3.0L 6cyl 4A)

Review

The Camry is a comfortable vehicle to drive. My wife is short but likes to drive it and has no concern about its performance or maintenance. I also use this car on various occasions and find it is comfortable. It handles well in all driving circumstances and is a reliable vehicle.

Better than an Avalon or Lexus
By Bob on 05/23/06 10:26 AM (PDT)

2003 Toyota Camry Sedan SE V6 4dr Sedan (3.0L 6cyl 4A)

Review

After 55,000 miles I am still impressed. Tested Avalon and Lexus and just not worth the money compared to the XLE V6. Get about 30 MPG routine driving, still surprised at comfortable ride and quietness. JBL sound system still works excellently, as does everything. The layout of the dash, consoles, etc. is much better than the Avalon or the Lexus. Have not had to replace or repair anything. The leather shows almost no wear compared to other cars I have had with leather. Doesn't get any better than this.

Pleasant, comfortable & reliable

2003 Toyota Camry Sedan SE V6 4dr Sedan (3.0L 6cyl 4A)

Review

I got into the car at the dealership and it was the most comfortable of all the cars I was considering. Performance was fine and the car has been reliable requiring only regular maintainance except for a battery replacement. It has been a car that is easy to use in city and great on the road usually delivering 30-32 miles per gallon country and 17 -19 city.

Boring Car with Bad Computer
By LCAtlanta on 03/31/04 00:00 AM (PST)

This car had starting problems in the first 1,000 miles. After having it towed in twice and four dealer repair attempts, it now still has problems. Toyota doesn't seem to be able to diagnose computer problems with their cars.

Awful Nice Ride

The Camry SE is powerful, quiet, comfortable, and attractive. I test drove the Altima, Passat and a certified used Volvo, and ended up with the Camry as it had the best track record from the reliability front. The Altima is a more powerful vehicle, but lacks the sophistication of the Camry. The Passat is a great car and wouldnÂ’t have been a bad choice, but was scared away by some problems with some coils, for a while (it's been resolved). And the Volvo was used, although certified (those cars have more bells and whistles than a Swiss Army knife). The SE is the nicest of the family and also the hardest to find (if you want something different).

Pause Before Moving
By SilverSnail on 12/09/03 00:00 AM (PST)

Vehicle

2003 Toyota Camry Sedan SE V6 4dr Sedan (3.0L 6cyl 4A)

Review

Although the vehicle has excellent fit and finish and the quality of the build is quite good, Toyota fails to complete the vehicle. First, the vehicle pauses every time you push down on the gas, then it goes. This is maddening. Second, the brakes go down to the floor--no better stopping though. This is disturbing. The tailpipe hangs down under the car and only has about 5" of clearance from the ground. There are far too many blind spots. The mirrors are for decoration. The Tilt Steering column doesn't. Toyota tells us that if any of the warning lights come on, they will get interested--Otherwise-Toyota designed the faults and likes them.

Paint Job and Thigh Support / Engine

I feel that my legs are half way on the seat and the other half on mid air! I'm 5'10 195 lbs. dad's 98 Ford Taurus SE is just as fast I'm wondering if the 2003 5-speed automatic transmission is quicker than the 4? Bad paint job/or defective. I have toyoguard double clearcoat sealant, and it's chipping off from the hood and on smaller areas around the vehicle. What a bummer! DON'T BUY BLACK!!!
