2019 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
Update. 75,000 miles and still going strong. I get so many comments when I get out of my car, people think it is gorgeous. I hope I make it to 200,000.
I bought the E wagon in 2019. Volvo has given up on wagons, and I have older dogs who can’t get up in a SUV. Not that I liked SUV’s in the first place. This car is nothing short of perfection. Beyond comfortable, extended seats, great … sight lines, beautiful interior, and my dogs can jump in!
When Volvo bailed on wagons ( actually they still make one but it’s an SUV height- and the price increase was 30% ) my only option was Mercedes, Audi and BMW. The latter two are too small. I am SO HAPPY i bought this car, and so are my dogs!
7 months later after buying the car it’s still a 5 star! One last item, it does not come with a spare tire. My friend told me that, so if you’re doing any cross country driving you might want to buy one. Update. There’s no room for a spare tire, so you have to buy run flat tires. Don’t love them but don’t like sitting on the side of the road either.
Update. Just turned 50,000 miles. Car is still wonderful. Just found out Mercedes discontinued the regular wagon for the United States in 2022. So I guess I’ll have to drive it till the wheels fall off. NO interest in the SUV height wagon. You buy a wagon because it’s NOT an SUV.
Update. Just hit 60K miles. Still in love. But I am not in love with the Mercedes dealerships in Jacksonville FL. The Fields dealership. They own 35 dealerships in the United States. Stay away from them. They charged $831 for a B service. My dealer in St Paul MN charges $431 for the exact same thing. So beware of who you take it to. Best is to find a good mechanic outside of Mercedes dealers who works on Mercedes.
But there isn’t a car on the road I would trade mine for. When I’m in the dealership, some of the sales people come out and say they can’t figure out why people don’t buy the wagon. Because people in the US are like sheep. Everybody buys the same thing. Cars, clothes, and on and on.
Update 69K. Only thing I wish for is better navigation. You really have to use your phone. I heard navigation was finally updated in 2022
