Hi I have a 1993 Jeep Wrangler with a 2000 year 6 cylinder motor, Automatic transmission, California emissions. The wiring harness is formed from both years and ebay purchases. I narrowed down my wiring problem to the shut down relay. It is on prior to starting. Then it stays off once the key goes to the start position. The circuit does not re-energize until a couple of seconds after the key ... Read More

It seems most of you know quite a bit about Jeeps, so here it goes: I have a 1993 Jeep Wrangler 6 cyl 4.0L. Yesterday I started the Jeep and let it warm up a bit. I left about 5 minutes later and started down this side street that had patches of ice on it, so the ride was a bit bumpy. Once I got to the main road which had ... Read More

I found issue with the OPINIONS provided on the test of the 2007 JEEP Wrangler Unlimited 4x4. The JEEP is not an SUV; and an SUV, is NOT a JEEP. I have owned a 1993 Wrangler, a 1989 Cherokee (225,000 miles on it when I sold it), a 1999 Grand Cherokee Limited, a 2003 Rubicon, and now a 2007 Rubicon Unlimited. I've driven about 47,000 miles in the Rubicon Unlimted in ... Read More

Any time you go to a larger output engine, you really need to address the strength of your transmission and components. Even with the TJ, they used different transmissions. As for the t-case, you MAY be able to get away with using the same one, but you may want to consider something with a stronger rating to handle the power from the engine. -Paul

I think waiting till the 07 is out is a good choice. I know a lot of us crotchety Jeepers complain about change, but I'm thinking the JK is going to be very cool. I'm going to keep my current Unlimited, because it's just too painful to part with. How many vehicles can you hear that about repeatedly? That's the Jeep thing. Anyway, like most people I've had more than one. ... Read More

I have a 1993 jeep wrangler and recently when ever I accelerate, in any gear, I hear a wierd pattering sound, if I had to describe it, it sounds like a childs bike who has a baseball card in the spokes, but muffled, and it continues evertime I depress the gas pedal. Are there any suggestions for what this problem could be?

Boy, did I just run across the link for you! http://bamph.com/jeep/tech_9.htm Example text: A CJ7 hard top will fit a YJ with some small gaps around the door tops. 1982 and later have the same latches as the YJ. Due to spare tire mounting differences the tailgate must be opened before the hatch.

Different story here. You should have said, If my FJ breaks down in the Mountains, I pray to God a Jeep comes along to tow me home! I have had Jeeps for the last 20 years. Yes, I have heard all the stories about Jeeps unreliability. However, and honestly, I have never had anything major go wrong with any of my Jeeps. I now have a 91 Cherokee 4L with 186,000, ... You probably have a problem with the front axle disconnect. It's vacuum operated, which is where the problem can often be found.

I go away for 2 days, and it takes me forever to get caught up with the discussion. I wouldn't mind greater ground clearance without resorting to a lift, or better gas mileage, as long as it has enough power to climb hills easily. I've driven some very old jeeps - thanks to Uncle Sam and a bunch of years of years in the Army. While I always loved driving military ... Read More
