Used 2005 Volvo XC90 Consumer Reviews
S80 to an XC90
I traded my S80 T-6 for an XC90 T-6. the XC90 is easier to get into due to the seat height, which i like. It drives very well but is some what sluggish compared to the S80 T6. The interior is very nice and comfortable. I never have figured out the radio, I guess I need a teenager. A simple radio would be nice. Gas... boy it does like gas. My S80 T-6 got 26 mpg the Xc90 does good to get 18 mpg on the highway and about 14 mpg in town
XC70 v XC90
I traded my 2000 XC70 with nearly 200K miles for this 2005 2.5T AWD XC90 and love it. The ride isn't quite as nice but my XC70 wouldn't tow my ski boat while this vehicle has no problems with it. I've put nearly 15K miles on it since I bought it in 7/07. The mileage also isn't as good as the XC70 (26mpg hwy v 22 mpg) but I can live with it. So far my only complaint is the radio: the digital readout screen failed. The radio still works fine yet Volvo says that the only way to fix it is to replace the entire radio. I understand the problem is fairly common with this model and Volvo ought to develop a recall option. Overall great safe car!!

XC90 V8
Have shopped every 3 row SUV out there. For us, this one hits a home run. More useable interior space than a Sequoia or Escalade, due to folding first, second and third row seats, safety features unmatched by any other , the most comfortable seats I tried and a smooth, easy ride made the decision clear. The V8 is a pleasure to drive. It is smooth, crisp and powerful. The interior is among the quietest of any I've been in.
Excellent Vehicle
This vehicle is our 5th Volvo. When we saw it on the showroom floor, after reading about it, we bought it. The safety, quality, performance and ride of a Volvo keep us coming back to it, even when we consider other similar vehicles on the market. The cargo space in this vehicle is excellent. Need I say more?
another volvo
I drive 1995 Volvo 850, and my wife had 2003 Honda Pilot SUV. Right away after we test drove 2.5T XC90 I decided to trade-in the honda SUV ( which started to show degradation in suspension and interior quality after only 2.5 years). I test drove 2.5T again and felt that 5- cylinder engine did not have enough power. T6 were not available anymore, so I got V8 2005 year model. We are very happy w/ the vehicle so far (~1300 miles in 2 weeks). As others said, it drives and feels more like a sedan, not your typical SUV-there is very minimal body roll, great acceleration and braking, no nose-dive forward as you brake, suspension very comfortable and you don't feel any bumps/potholes, except major ones
