6 months on and still have build quality issues

2012 Volkswagen Jetta TDI 4dr Sedan w/Premium (2.0L 4cyl Turbodiesel 6M)

If you're not driving on a newly paved road the ride is appalling thanks to the old-timey torsion beam rear axel.
Mine was even worse thanks to VW not installing the rear shocks properly.
VW claimed that's just how the car road and refused to even look at it.
I had to take it to my body shop guy who found the problem.
The windsheild cracked at 500 miles when I hit a pothole & I had to get my lawyer involved to fix that since VW initially refused.
Constant stalling problem which took VW a month to track down: stuck fuel pressure release valve.
Is a 6-speed transmission that came with a 5-speed gearshift: it took a month to convince someone at VW why that was incorrect.

Best Features

It is a good looking car with a very smooth manual transmission. Once the stalling problem was corrected the fuel economy jumped up. Typically I average 45 mpg/tank now, 30 before. Best so far was 58 mpg on a 300 mile road trip.

Worst Features

Improve the poor build quality. Ditch the cheap vinyl seats, cloth or leather should be an option. Bring back a decent suspension. In a panic stop the front end loses all composure and flails around causing a true panic. That needs to be completely redesigned.

9 month review: still have build quality issues. VW has refused to fix the front bumper cover that keeps coming loose - a retaining clip is missing. the 2nd windshield is starting to crack - I have been driving since 1980 and have never had a windshield crack on any other car, let alone 2. still run across missing parts on the car. With the sunroof open it sounds like a drummer is beating someone to death inside the roof. VW has only been able to partially fix that.
