We love our new Sonata Hybrid
Hal Baumbaach,09/10/2016
After telling people for the last 4 years how we loved our two Priuses, we were shocked while driving a Sonata at the dealership. We went to look at the Sonatas because they are beautiful cars and came away totally amazed at all of the features, the comfort, and the quiet of the Sonata. Prius is not even in the same ballpark as Sonata. I call our Sonata "our economy luxury car." We only paid an extra $1,000 more than the last Prius we bought, a 2014, and the Sonata feels like it is worth at least $10,000 more in features, beauty, quiet, safe, comfortable ride. I can't tell you how often my wife and I discuss how much we love our new Sonata. We bought the $35,000 Hybrid Limited loaded with all the features for $29,000 about 3 months ago and are getting over 40 mpg which is about 5 mpg less than our Prius was getting. We now have 36,000 miles on the 2016 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid and my wife and I still love it as much as when we bought it. We have had no problems with the car at all. We are still averaging over 40 mpg. The feature I like the most is the Smart Cruise that follows the car in front of us and slows or stops automatically when the other car slows or stops. It will even start back up at stop lights and match the cars speed in front of us. It warns us if someone is in our blind spot when we want to change lanes. It also warns us about cars coming from the side as we are backing up. And best of all, it will stop automatically if something gets in our way in front of us accidentally. It has saved us from a couple of accidents already. Those features are well worth the price for them. We also bought a 2017 Hyundai Sonata, which is our second car, and we will probably be buying a 2019 Sonata Hybrid to replace our 2016 Sonata Hybrid next year. They are great cars with outstanding features and at a reasonable price. We now have 24,000 miles on the car and still love it. We just bought a 2017 Sonata and now have two Sonatas, one for me and one for my wife.
