My second Tundra. This being a 4 WD. All good except gas mileage. Update 4/22/21. Now owned for 3 years next month. I only have 12,400 miles on the truck. I have under utilized it. Never towed a trailer or boat. Never used the 4 wheel drive option off road or towing. It has had no mechanical issues. Only problem are unskilled drivers hitting it while it is legally parked... Updated 4-25-23 only 19600 miles and have owned it 5 years as of May 2023. No problems. Still under utilized as a 4WD pickup. But I like it and feel safe in it. Enjoy the V8 power.

Bought this truck for specific reasons,(tow a 7000 pound boat and a work truck that holds full sheets of plywood) and it seems to do what I bought it for. Towed my boat from Long Island to Boston, a couple of hundred miles with no issues. Still getting used to it has great acceleration, comfortable on the highway, hauls my work trailer effortlessly, and has decent gas mileage for a full size truck. It is not the most luxurious but I knew that when I bought it and sort of like that about it and wish it did get better mileage but can’t have the power it does and mileage too but if there is one thing I can say I don’t like when driving is a blind spot to the right forward of the side mirrors. It is probably typical in all larger trucks but it is a concern to be cautious of. Overall I like the truck very much so far.

Not as good as my 2006 Tundra Access Cab

The headliner in my 2018 Tundra 4WD DC looks ragged and unfinished where it meets the rear window frame. I examined a number of other brand new 2018 Toyota Tundras on the lot and they ALL look unfinished and raggedy, except for the Limited, Platinum, and 1794 editions with power rear windows. The engine (5.7L) is VERY noisy during cold startup, it almost sounds like a darn diesel, with knocking noises which gradually diminish as the engine warms up, but never go completely away. My 4.7L in the 2006 Tundra NEVER made any noises like this 5.7L does. It's very disconcerting, to say the least. Toyota recommends 0W-20 in the 5.7L, but I'll be changing it out here shortly when I reach 2,000 miles to Shell Rotella T 5W-40 synthetic, the same oil I've been using in my 2006 Tundra since it was new. In retrospect, I may have made a mistake purchasing this new Tundra, but I'll give it a chance. Maybe things will work out. I'm just used to having better quality, fit, and finish. Even my 1984 Toyota truck, as bare bones as it was, still had a better finished headliner than my 2018 does.

Simple Truck, Ton of Power, Great reliability

Owned a 2008 single cab Tacoma 2.7 5 speed. Amazing little truck! Traded to a 2016 Tacoma DCSB TRD OffRoad before trading it for my 2018 Tundra DCLB TRD OffRoad. The 16 Tacoma was a great vehicle and light pick-up truck, also amazing off road lacked in towing power and trans down/up shifted to much. I decided to go to the Tundra for the room and power. The tundra gets the same MPG that my Tacoma here in the mountains of Southwest Virginia. 15 to 16 MPG. On the interstate the Tundra is flawless. Shift points and Power where they need to be. The ride is great for me I have no complaints whatsoever. 17 to 18 MPG Interstate. I detail vehicles for a side job, I deal with a lot of newer trucks and SUVs. I can tell you first hand that Toyota uses great quality stuff in their vehicles compared to other brands.
