I have always had Toyotas. T100, and the 2000 Tundra. They were always reliable. I purchased the D Cab Tundra. SO Big, its not even funny. Backed into a mailbox, couldn't see!. Anyway, 5000 miles into driving, I changed the oil, and saw a leak. Brought it back to Toyota and said , Hey! This ain't funny! They checked it to find a messed up rear main seal. Unheard of in a Toyota! Maybe this one was made @ 430 pm. on a Friday! Built in Indiana! I'm getting scared! Anyway, leak is gone, I'm crossing my fingers...

Vanilla with a twist

I looked at every make of double cab I could find. Sure the Titan appealed to my inner-gorilla, but it didn't handle as well or feel as solidly built as the Tundra. Plus the torque seems better & placed where you'd need it on a daily basis. The new Tacoma is sharp, but too small. I'm 6'3" & haul a wife, 2 kids, camping gear, kayaks mountain bikes and a dog and the Tundra does it all without missing a beat. It's got plain jane styling on the outside, big deal: this truck is quiet, packed with power, handles well, will probably go 300k+ miles and is cavernous inside (for most). Only complaint is a phantom creak in the driver's seat when making right turns

Great Truck Ever

This is the greatest truck of all time. I was worried when they went big with the new Tundras and, although I haven't driven one, I can't imagine it being better than this one. It drives like a Camry but is a workhorse. It can tow a ton and is smooth and quiet. And it has the greatest feature of all time - the rear window rolls down so it feels like you're in a convertible. They do have a rust problem, but I would buy one of these if it were new in a heartbeat. Update: I drove one of the new ones and am very disappointed. Come on Toyota, for $60k, this should be an engineering marvel, not a plastic filled unupdated mess. The new Nissan's are cooler and that makes me sad to say.

lower ball joint failure

I have been an owner and was a very happy Toyota customer for over 9 years. My current experience with the front wheel of my 2004 Toyota Tundra falling off, has made me a very dissatisfied customer. Toyota had issued a recall for a lower ball joint problem including some 2004 Tundra trucks. I was told by Toyota that my truck was not covered by this recall. They have refused to pay for damages. I would like to issue a warning to Tundra owner CHECK YOUR BALL JOINT AS MINE FAILED WITHOUT WARNING. IF you have had to have your ball joints change please contact the national highway safety board.

I just purchased this truck after much research. I was impressed with the price and the way it handled when I test drove it. It rides like a car and is spacious and quiet. I was also concerned with resale but with toyota there is no problem in my area ( Texas).
