My second Tacoma. Not much to say. Very reliable and a joy to drive. They're great off road, for camping trips, lots of other adventures. Been very satisfied with my purchase and plan on keeping for many more years to come.

Reliable but rough around the edges

The engine is solid overall a great truck. However the leg room on back is limited. Also the AC is not adécuate enough specially in hot months. Other than that is a good truck.

Top of the line it's not

I've had this about 10 months now and get more aggravated with it each time I drive it. First, you get neither power or fuel economy. Traded an FJ for this which had gobs of power to this that seems woefully underpowered and it gets 15-17 mpg while driving it like miss Daisy is my passenger. Mine is the TRD crew cab, and it has no heated mirrors, many of the interior switches are not back-lit so driving at night or in cold weather the truck is a pain in the neck. The most recent insult was the ENTUNE update they sent on a USB drive. Now none of the functions are working even though my phone shows a good bluetooth connection.

I actually own 2 tacoma and am very pleased with both of them. The issue I have is the paint.I have a 1999 model and a 2012 model and the paint job on the roof and hood is terrible not only on my vehicles but on many I have seen on the roads. I also own a 2008 Honda civic and the paint is so much better on it. I like my Toyota's but please do something about the paint .I would like to buy another Tacoma but not if I'm gonna have to paint it every five years
