Used 2005 Toyota Tacoma 4dr Double Cab PreRunner V6 Rwd SB (4.0L 6cyl 5A) Consumer Reviews
Big Red
This is my second Toyota pickup. Toyotas are so dependable. They run and run with very few breakdowns. The 4.0 liter V-6 is very powerful with excellent gas mileage. I have 2000 miles on my truck and have not found any problems with the truck.
You get what you pay for.
I have owned a Nissan Frontier for years and was satisfied with it (I test drove the 05 Frontier and was not satisfied with it, especially with the gas milage the sticker displayed). I test drove the Tacoma (non-TRD pkg) and was impressed with the results, so I purchased one. What amazed me was the horsepower and torque it puts out for its size. I use 91 octane and average about 21 mpg both city and hwy. Overall, I'm very pleased with this truck.

I like my new truck
I haven't had it that long yet however I just took a 2000 mi round trip towing a trailer and a bed load. The truck performed great. Plus it's nice around town.
Just purchased Tacoma and Love it
We just traded in our leased 2002 Tacoma for the 2005 model and WOW! what a huge difference in design, ride and size. The ride is like a luxury vehicle and the seats are very comfortable with the lumbar supports. My only complaint so far would be the gearshift (automatic) seems similar to that of a manual transmission with the over-down, down-over, movements to change from park/drive/etc. I imagine it just takes getting used to.
This truck Rocks!!
Have only had it for 2 weeks but we are very happy! Having owned a Toyota truck from 91-98 and then a Ford Ranger from 98-2005, there is no comparison on quality and design. Toyota has it all hands down. This truck crushes all competition hands down in every category that we looked at and we pretty much drove them all. Bravo Toyota for building the truck that all others will be chasing for many years to come!
