Picked up the 4x2 doublecab with TRD#2 package, and I can't say enough good things about it. The ride is very smooth, and bears little resemblance to the ride on the 04 models. Responsiveness is very good, and handles like a dream. Most use will be on freeways in town, with the occasional foray onto forest roads or across the family farm to hunt.

This truck is fun to drive. It has excellent handling and impressive power. Overall it does everything well.

I will have to say that I really enjoy the sound of that engine... it is a truly TOYOTA sound... I love my Tacoma... and haven't notice the "bump" problem, but will pay attention...

Have only had it for 2 weeks but we are very happy! Having owned a Toyota truck from 91-98 and then a Ford Ranger from 98-2005, there is no comparison on quality and design. Toyota has it all hands down. This truck crushes all competition hands down in every category that we looked at and we pretty much drove them all. Bravo Toyota for building the truck that all others will be chasing for many years to come!

I was sold on Dodge for many years having owned 3 Dodge trucks and 1 Dodge van. After the Dodge dealership didn't have what I wanted, and didn't seem too eager to procure my vehicle of choice, for grins, I stopped by the Toyota dealership. That afternoon, I test drove the 2005 Tacoma Crew Cab, 4x4 and NEVER LOOKED BACK!!! They ordered what I wanted and I have had nothing but praise for this truck.
