Used 2005 Toyota Tacoma Double Cab Consumer Reviews
Major Improvement Over Previous Models
I've had Toyota trucks for most of my adult life and have been disappointed by the lack of amenities in past versions. But, the 2005 version makes a huge leap forward. I'm now getting up into my late 40s and looking for a more refined truck that's reliable. The Titan actually had everything I was looking for. However, its ride was sub par and I could actually see the gas gage needle drop as I test drove it. I've always had a manual trans since I tend to be a control freak. But didn't like the Tacomas 6-spd (too many gears for all that power). I must say I have fallen in love w/ the auto its a nice setup that I drive like a stick (designed by someone w/ a brain). I do recommend it.
05 Tacoma sport 4 dr
It isnt a compact truck anymore the 05 has gotten a little larger it has a real aggressive look to it, it runs and drives like a car the v6 has lots of powerand gets decent mileage I have been averaging about 19-20 mpg with trafic, should do beter on the open highway . I was going to get a 2004 but drove them both and with 60 more horsepower it is a wolrd of difference, I got the prerunner with the sport package so it has all of the color keyed door handles and mirrors and I got it in Speedway Blue, a truly awsome color I get a lot of compliments on the truck.

Best truck I've owned
I love this truck. My family and I can ride comfortably. I have 2 kids ages 1 and 2 so I have 2 car seats and my wife and I have plenty of room. It gets great gas mileage to be such a big truck. I drive 75 - 150 miles a day so that is very important to me. I'm getting 20 miles to the gallon. It is extremely comfortable ride. I don't think I will ever get rid of this truck.
Get one if you can find it.
Title speaks for itself. Looked for one for a long time and was glad I had patience. Bought an 06 Nissan Crew and it was ok, but in no way comparable to the TRD. Sweet truck Awesome deal
This truck Rocks!!
Have only had it for 2 weeks but we are very happy! Having owned a Toyota truck from 91-98 and then a Ford Ranger from 98-2005, there is no comparison on quality and design. Toyota has it all hands down. This truck crushes all competition hands down in every category that we looked at and we pretty much drove them all. Bravo Toyota for building the truck that all others will be chasing for many years to come!
