So far great truck. Three tanks of fuel, ave 19MPG with 1/3 city and 2/3 highway. Size is perfect, and seems to have plenty of power for my towing needs. Auto transmition is suprisingly smooth. Some engine noise, but nothing like the small block Chevy's I'm used to! Don't pay MSRP, there's a dealer somewhere that'll sell them at invoice plus a few hundred bucks.

It isnt a compact truck anymore the 05 has gotten a little larger it has a real aggressive look to it, it runs and drives like a car the v6 has lots of powerand gets decent mileage I have been averaging about 19-20 mpg with trafic, should do beter on the open highway . I was going to get a 2004 but drove them both and with 60 more horsepower it is a wolrd of difference, I got the prerunner with the sport package so it has all of the color keyed door handles and mirrors and I got it in Speedway Blue, a truly awsome color I get a lot of compliments on the truck.

Best truck I've owned

I love this truck. My family and I can ride comfortably. I have 2 kids ages 1 and 2 so I have 2 car seats and my wife and I have plenty of room. It gets great gas mileage to be such a big truck. I drive 75 - 150 miles a day so that is very important to me. I'm getting 20 miles to the gallon. It is extremely comfortable ride. I don't think I will ever get rid of this truck.

It is night and day between the '04 and '05 Tacoma in terms of Size, Power and Comfort. The '05 Tacoma has a lot more leg and head room to accomodate larger occupants and the cabin does not have that claustrophobic feel to it. The Power was increased from 190hp in a 3.4L to 245hp in a 4.0L V6. Cruising at 70mph has the engine purring at 2500 rpm. Fuel consuption has been about 260 miles per tank. The seats have been redone to make them more comfortable. I was lucky to have been on the build team project from the drawing stage to actual production. I know first hand that the designers took into consideration a lot of the customers concerns and desires. This is the best truck Toyota has built.

Title speaks for itself. Looked for one for a long time and was glad I had patience. Bought an 06 Nissan Crew and it was ok, but in no way comparable to the TRD. Sweet truck Awesome deal
