No major issues, 210000 miles, doesn't burn oil , 17-21 gas mileage on new sticker is still getting that even after more aggressive tires added. I had a 8x20' pop up tent trailer I used for a few years and the gas mileage only dropped to 14mpg after a lot of serious hill climbing. The truck runs like new still. People always stop me to compliment the truck and want to buy it. I may have to get the clutch replaced after 210000mi. So what? Best value ever! Except for my other truck 1986 1 ton Toyota pu with 268,000mi. Still runs well also.

I purchased my truck from an individual in '97 with only 18K miles on it. My truck now has 225,000 plus and still going. My only regret was I wished it was an automatic. I'm tired of shifting after 11 years. Toyota should have never stopped making this truck. It is perfect. If you take care of it the truck will take care of you. I would buy this model again if it was still on the market. Maybe Toyota will bring it back!

We bought this vehicle when it was a year old and had 18,000 miles on it. it now has 83,000 miles. It sure gave the Dodge Dakota a run for its money by being the only two mid-size trucks. Reliability and styling beat it hands down. Now the Tundra (full size) has taken its place. People are surprised to hear that it is a 96 with the styling and the way that it is holding up. The only thing that bugs me is that there are no headrests on the bench seat in the back and that we might have to get rid of it as our son graduates form his high back booster. Both my husband and myself had Toyota pickups when we met. Very reliable and great styling will always draw us back to Toyota trucks.
