2026 Toyota Sequoia Consumer Reviews

"I'll have a Tundra, no bed and a side of 3rd row"
We traded our 2022 1794 Tundra 4x4 for our Platinum Sequoia. We loved the look and styling of the Sequoia since it was first unveiled. The Tundra was also great, but the cream seats in the model we had terrified me with the kids. I haul things sometimes, but the Sequoia has ample power to pull a small trailer if need be, and lets be realistic with a 5.5' bed the Sequoia could probably fit anything the tundra would in the back with the seats down. We haven't and wont look back, it's got everything the Tundra had, which was leaps and bounds ahead of technology found in just last years models. We've driven Toyota since 2003 for their durability and Reliability. The new Infotainment system gets a little clunky sometimes, but I know that will be addressed with Future software updates. I am a little salty about only receiving one smart key with delivery (Due to a semiconductor shortage I'm told). They will be providing a 2nd Key at some point, but having one key in a family where this is the family vehicle is pretty annoying. Other than those small things, we'd buy again and again.

Love my Sequoia!
I absolutely love this ride. If I am going to buy a full size SUV, gotta go with the longest lasting car in the market, which is the Sequoia. Toyota Safety Sense and crash rating gives me peace at mind to keep the family safe.

2026 Toyota Sequoia hybrid rocks
Simply Bad ass. The 3.5 engine is peppy and the hybrid function works smoothly. Quality of the vehicle build is superb. The ride is comfortable. Gas mileage is pretty close to stated values. Towing is as good as with a traditional pickup. The only down side is the trailering function is extremely complicated and difficult to quickly adjust. Needs a quick way to turn of the safety mechanisms when backing the trailer. The only other thing that I am not particularly thrilled about is the limitations in the cargo area due to the third row seats and location of the hybrid battery. Also the hazard switch needs to be relocated as i continually activate it when placing my cell phone in the built in charger.

First Toyota...biggest disappointment
Let me start off with, I've wanted to get into a Toyota for a long time. I needed 3 rows and something dependable. I was able to overlook the cramped 3rd row and lack of cargo space because the car was just beautiful and I just knew it would last as long as I wanted it to. The dealership I bought it from put 7,000 miles on it as the owner used it as a personal vehicle. He added a few extras which was nice. It didn't take long because issues started to occur. Between 10,000-25,000 miles we have had the following issues: -Liftgate not closing properly (took it in twice for that) -plastic knob on volume fell off -Replace hitch cover -All dash board lights can on including check engine and other safety lights (took in twice for that) -Squealing breaks -Passenger unlock and automatic window stopped working at the same time -The plastic piece on the side of the drivers seat broke almost in half -The knee extender on the drivers side stopped working Now I'm just waiting for the next thing to happen because, at this point, its inevitable. I did call Toyota and they offered an extended warranty. I agreed to that at first and then realized I didn't want to be at the shop once a month or more like I had been (no exaggeration). I am now going through the buyback process so we'll see how that goes.

Happy with this for family car
We are a family of 5 with a boat and a dog and upgraded to the sequoia from a minivan. We needed the towing capacity and third row and feel the shortcomings of the rear storage are outweighed by the better gas mileage with hybrid engine. Despite what other reviews say, we find the third row to be spacious enough for our adult-sized kids. We love it and haven’t looked back.
