Used 2007 Toyota RAV4 Consumer Reviews
Secret Rocket V6 version
Rav4 means quality and performance. I urge you to test drive one that matches your personality. I can only talk about the more powerful V6 2WD version with 269 horses. Driving the Rav4 (V6 2WD) is like driving a rocket. I bought the V6 base and it is fast. The transmission is a little touchy but it really kicks into gear when needed. The list 0-60 time is 6.6. I have smoked many 30K sedans off the line. I can have fun and still have room for friends. If you want a fast, quality, functional ride you should look into getting one.
LOVE my RAV!!
I am in sales and pretty much live in my vehicle. Because I'm in the construction industry and do some off- road driving to get to job sites, I decided to get the Rav4 Sport for the 4WD. I love the roominess and the layout. It is very comfortable and fun to drive. I also get excellent gas mileage. I am extremely pleased with it!

Mostly Happy with Purchase
The snappy appearance and features are nice. The V-6 is powerful at about the same size as the engine in our Highlander. I have read many of the customer reviews and did not see anyone mentioning an engine whine between 35-45 mph. I don't know if this is a problem with having the V-6 and only 2w drive (does the engine need more resistance?).
Steering Shaft and Rack Problems
I loved this car, until I hit about 50,000 miles, then I noticed a knock in the steering, Total cost of repair on the vehicle will be close to $3000.00. Needs steering shaft and rack. Over 36,000 miles this is not covered and I just turned 52,000. I took it to the dealership complaining of an occasional knock at 20,000 and then again at 30,000 and they could find nothing wrong; they told me to get an alignment, this made it a little better but know it is highly annoying to drive the vehicle. There is a Tech bulletin out there for this problem, too bad they don't recall these parts. With the bad publicity you would think they would rectify this problem. I am not sure I would get another Toyota.
Love this car
This is a great vehicle. I down sized from a Dodge Durango and other than a few of the comforts (heated seats, leather) I don't miss it for a second. The RAV has a smooth ride with guts when needed. I love taking it up to the mountians on ski trips and with all the room there is plenty of room for friends.
