Pat's review of 2006 RAV4

Estimated gas mileage is not correct. It has lots of road noise. Has been dented very easily in parking lot, the metal is very thin. We bought the base model with mag wheels, black luggage rack, 6 airbags, floor mats and grocery cargo net, we paid for the extras. The spare tire cover faded very quickly and was exchanged for a one time only exchange. This cover has faded again and is purple instead of the midnight blue the real car color. I was told by the dealership there was nothing else that could be done. I am not happy, and I will not purchase another Toyota product. When other people see the purple tire cover they ask questions!!

SUV, Sports car, Practical Hauler, Amazing snow vehicle all wrapped up in one package. That is what the RAV4 Sport does and does very well. Have not had one single problem since I bought it.

steeringwheel clunking

I have enjoyed the vehicle for 4 years. We take it to the Eastern Sierras for trout fishing and can take the steep grades with ease with the V6. The only problem that I have encountered is the steering wheel clunking on slow turns. The steering knuckle was replaced under warranty at approximately 15,000 miles. Now at 29,000 miles it is clunking again on the replaced unit. There is definitely a design flaw by Toyota and they need to own up to it. I will be taking it in for servicing and demand a replacement even if it is over 36 months warranty time limit.

This suv is incredible! The performace of 269hp v6 is awesome. Comfort is great - I am 6'3 250lb - still have lots of room. The fuel mileage is 25mpg. I look forward to driving this suv. I love the new look of the rav it is bolder than old model. Build quality is typical toyota (excellent) This suv is very quiet around town or on the highway. Ride quality is excellent. Gearing of the v6 rav is great with cruise on 1900rpm at 70mph the 4cyl is about 2500- 2600 at 70mph. Stop looking take one for a test drive!

Worth the wait ....so far

Had a very hard time getting a loaded 4x4 Limited V6. Only have it a few weeks but so far it was worth the wait. There is no other vehicle in its class that compares. The fit and finish, ride, look and everything about the car is great. The dealer experience was horrible. The car has electric steering, a great turning radius and most of the bells and whistles one could want. I originally was against having the spare mounted on the tailgate (which opens like a door instead of like a hatchback) but it isn't heavy opening the door and it affords internal storage space. Haven't had an opportunity to verify the MPG but it seems good so far. Love the big 6 but settled on color due to availability.
