Used 2006 Toyota RAV4 Consumer Reviews
Safest Car I've Ever Seen
Overall performance was great, but the car really pulled its weight during a recent accident. My 17-year-old flipped the car three times going about 70 mph and landed on the driver's side in a ditch. The car was totaled, but thanks to seatbelts and side airbags, she walked away with barely a scratch. I would recommend this car to anyone.
It will get you to where you need to go but not much else
I've owned my RAV 4 for 5 years now and it's the 3rd Toyota I've owned ('91 celica and '00 celica being the others). All my toyotas have been really great on quality. I bought this RAV 4 because of it being more practical than my 2000 toyota celica I traded it in for. The RAV 4 can get me through the midwestern snow storms without much problems (big problem with my celica). It gets great gas milage for a SUV but the RAV 4 is pretty vanilla. Not really exciting to drive. It will get me to where I need to go but that's about it.

ALMOST PERFECT FOR THE FIRST 36000 MI
We purchased the RAV4 in feb 2006 , it works very well in city drive , highway ride is dominated by infernal noise , the design is nice but the quality of this vehicle is nonexistent . After the first car wash i noticed a lot of white paint chips on the front hood then soon after 36000 a two thousand dollars array of repairs started : rear shocks, front brakes , intermediary steering shaft , belt tensioner ,dash glove compartment door . At 74500 miles every time i stop an a traffic light i have to shift in neutral because of very heavy vibration and noise and the CD changer works occasionally . The technicians at the dealership find all this normal , if soo , TOYOTA IS NOT FOR ME.
Fast, sporty but small gas tank
This car is fast and fun to drive! I get 24 high/city mpg combined. I am however disappointed with the size of the gas tank. I fill up like every week. I manage to drive 300 miles per tank. I try to coast and I try to drive slowly to maximize the most mpg that I possibly can. I wish the gas tank was bigger and then I would probably love this car more. I love the trunk space!!!! I can fit what ever was in my last trunk in my car in just the undercarriage of this car. I am leaning towards getting a hybrid camry which could get 450-500 miles per tank instead of 300 that the Rav 4 gets. Also the Rav 4 is loud on the highway and the radio is hard to hear and it isn't very clear either.

2006 Toyota RAV 4
Exceptional quality and amenities for the price. Handles well and has surprising power for a 4 cyl. Plenty of room for both passengers & cargo. All the benefits of an SUV but rides like a car. Tight turning radius a bonus.
