Used 2017 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid Consumer Reviews
Awesome
This car was a total surprise to me. The rav4 hybrid has hit the ball out of the paark, first entering and exiting the vehicle is great. But when you hit the seat you settle into a very supportive and comfortable environment. It just keeps getting better. Navigation is great, radio is fantastic, the electronics are easy to navigate, the safety features are unbelievable, esp. The adaptive cruise control. The hybrid system is really impressive, but it took me a while to get used to starting the vehicle and having total silence. My only complaint is that the range of the adjustable steering wheel is rather limited. But, I really like this rav4 hubrid a lot, enjoying it more every time I drive it. My wide, as a perpetual passenger thinks it is very comfortable although I do feel, for the cost of this vehicle, it should have a passenger seat that can be raised and lowered. What is really amazing is the cost of gasoline. I now use under 9 gallons a week. I an saving at least 12 dollars a week, sometimes 18. Fantastic. With my costs having declined so much, I don't know why everyone doesn't get one. You owe it to yourself to at least check it out. That's what I did, having no intention of buying one, just checking it out. I ended up, after 4 visits back to the dealer, ended up driving one home. Enjoy the experience.

Great Car
I read a lot of reviews about poor gas mileage. I can get great gas mileage or poor mileage. If you drive a lot of highway miles and average over 70 mph this is not a good choice. On the highway if you keep your speed to 65 mph you can get 36 mpg or better. City and rural driving will be anywhere between 30 and 45 mpg. You will need to learn how to drive a hybrid to get the best mileage.m

The first 2017 RAV4 hybrid purchased in the state
This is my first Toyota and I LOVE it! It's also my first hybrid and first SUV. I retired in December 2015 and spent months looking for the vehicle to carry me into my retirement years. I own a 2004 Chevy Silverado, that's still going strong and is in very good shape, but it's getting a bit long in the tooth as far as using it for taking long road trips. I plan to travel taking road trips to places I didn't have time to see and enjoy while I was still working. I am 6'5" tall so that ruled out a lot of vehicles because they just didn't have the leg room I must have in order to drive. I had pretty well narrowed down my choices to a few other vehicles when I by chance ran across the RAV4 hybrid. I know Toyota has outstanding quality since my mother has a 17-year-old Highlander that's still running like a champ and looks great, plus I have a number of friends driving Toyotas with well over 200,000 miles on them and they're going strong. I was using TrueCar through AAA for research when it sent me to Gray-Daniels Toyota in Brandon, MS. I was a bit put off at first since that dealership is 55 miles from my home, but I was contacted by a fantastic salesman: Tony Hughes. Tony let me know up front that they wanted my business and would do what it took to see me satisfied with a sale and he did just that. I drove over to visit the dealership. I told them what I wanted, but they didn't have it in stock. They were able to locate it in Texas and bring it in and one week later I was back at the dealership to pick up my new vehicle. I VERY HIGHLY recommend Gray-Daniels Toyota and Tony Hughes for all of your new vehicle needs if you're in the area (they've even made out of state sales as far away as Louisiana). I was very pleasantly surprised to learn that the RAV4 hybrid has the exact same drive-train as the Lexus NT 300h. The Limited trim level of the RAV4 has many of the same apointments, so you're essentially driving the Lexus with a Toyota badge. I was further very pleasantly surprised to feel how silky smooth the ride it provides and the accelearation is quite good for my driving habits. I have to add that the pictures I studied online don't do the RAV4 justice, this vehicle is beautiful! I am a very happy owner and plan to keep this SUV for as long as possible and can easily see why Toyota owners remain brand loyal, it's just that good!

Replaced my tundra
This rava 4 has been great for the first 700 miles, I am so happy to not be crying for my truck. All of the safety features are a real advantage to both my rural driving and the hybrid features makes trips to the city environmentally friendly, I loved the blindside assist but love the headlight sensors that will dim the lights for me as much now. The automatic distance sensors on cruise is a luxury. I have not figured out what accepts voice commands yet and media functions have me baffled

Solid, Economical, and Reliable
What I like is the 30 mpg in everyday driving with up to 35 mpg on long trips. Ride comfort is good, handling average, reasonably quiet for a compact SUV, great cargo area, and back seat room. No issues over the past 9 months and 11k miles travelled. Gripes are few, the XLE seats lack lumbar support and my back felt it the first long trip I took, so now I use a small pillow to solve that problem. If you go up a trim level you can get lumbar support on the SE and Limited, etc. The infotainment system is average, but I really don’t like touch screens to access entertainment options. The screen doesn’t always react to my finger touches or slides station/song selections up and down when I just want to make a selection. Also the absence of Apple Carplay and Android Auto is a negative. Otherwise another super reliable Toyota product.
