I traded in my 2017 Toyota Prius One series for a 2021 Prius L Eco series. There were several updates and changes made which made it worth trading it in, especially since I had 94,000 miles in the four years that I had the 2017. The new version tones down the exterior design and puts some nice, high quality matching touches in the interior. I absolutely love all the changes and updates and I love how the Eco version maximizes on fuel economy more than ever. I feel the Prius is about $3,000 overpriced and it should be at $22 to $23,000 total cost including destination. The new model year seems like it doesn't scrape on the front end bottom as much as the 2017 did which is a plus and maybe they raised the ground clearance a little and I appreciate this. I'm not a very luxury oriented person and I don't like very many frills and options. Tesla seems to be a much more popular seller, however, I still don't ever see myself as a Tesla owner at this time. Overall, I'm getting about 5-10 miles more per gallon of fuel economy compared to my 2017 one series. I opted for the deep Red metallic exterior for a second time in a row since it clicks with me most. The Prius design with the hatchback allows plenty of versatility and room. It wasn't smart for me to trade in my 94,000 mile 2017 and I probably could have easily added up another 100 or 200,000 miles on top of it. This was more of an emotional purchase. There are most probably better cars to purchase for this type of money, however, I really enjoy the engineering, technology, and the humility which the Prius brings to the table. I appreciate the low key improvements which don't attract as much attention as the first design that came out in 2016. The base L Eco comes very well equipped and I don't see me needing or wanting the extra options which the higher trims bring to the table. The Prius Prime seems attractive, however, it adds more complexity and cost. Overall, the new Prius L Eco has everything I need and want in a vehicle except for large SUV capacity and size. I plan to replace the factory tires once worn out with Michelin Defender tires. I wish I could have kept my '17 Prius and not traded in, and just added the new '21 Prius to the garage. The '17 just felt like it had a lot more life and strength in it, but I decided to let it go to keep the garage simple at this time. I do see myself keeping at least a couple of Prius vehicles at the same time down the line. I'm starting to look at a Prius as a smart investment, whereas any other car purchase would be emotional depreciation money pit. A lot of people don't like the Prius and they find it geeky and I was one of them until I started to truly appreciate the Prius for what it is. I

I’m averaging 48.9 miles per gallon right now. The display tells me that. I love the car. The only problem I have with the car is the display for audio, maps, etc… you can’t see it at all unless you change it so that it is all white with black text. This, however could just be a setting that I don’t know about. Overall, I love this car.

This is the third Prius that we have owned. We still have a 2012 Prius C, also both cars are great to drive.

Prius and gas mileage This is my second Prius LE to own. My first was in 2011, and this one is a 2022. It's funny how some things change in 10 years, but some things stay the same. You still got that quality built of a Toyota that you cannot go wrong. The road noise can be a bit much at times, but the reason you’re buying this car is for the gas mileage and the Reliability to drive many miles at a savings. I use my Prius as a commute car back & forth to work and to run a few errands here and there. You cannot go wrong when you are going to get gas, and it only holds about 9 gallons when you are close to empty. So far, I’ve seen 53 to 55 mpg combined mileage highway & in-town. 8/15/24 Update In a little over two years, I have accumulated 53,208 miles, which shows an average of 57.4 miles to the gallon. No maintenance issues one set of tires and a cabin air filter change at approximately 30,000 miles

We bought the Prius L ECO and we are pleased overall. It has just enough gadgets - backup camera and lane change alert included. The mileage was a big factor in our choice.

One disappointment after another

Okay, so I bought this car because I was so happy with my Prius 2008. They didn't have similar type of car in stock but I decided to be convinced by the salesman that this would wow me as much. My first time with AWD! Okay, so let me begin first by saying that the fact the car does not include a spare has been a NIGHTMARE. Had two flats and the warranty has been a headache. They'll keep you waiting all day to fix your tire (under warranty). I'm still waiting after 10 hours as I type this. 2) The storage space is not as outstanding as my older Prius. The car is bigger yet has FEWER storage space, no more of that cute secret compartments. Disappointment. 3) All that unnecessary buttons especially for phone call on the steering wheel is super sensitive to touch! If you turn the wheel, something either goes off or on! 4) You have to click on remote FOUR times to get all four doors to open and what's more, if you try to open from passenger side with your remote, it won't open. It will only open from driver's side. Unlike the 2008. 5) There is NO GPS of its own unless you download Toyota app or something. I tried. Nothing. If will open GPS ONLY IF you plug your phone in but then if your SO want to play music from his phone, it won't unless my phone is unplugged. Disaster! 6) The windshield got dented from something on the road. I come back home and the dent turned into a long crack, probably from the heat of the summer. Yay, I found out I have a warranty to cover this. But wait, did you say it cannot be a long of a crack? WHAT?!?!?This was beyond my control yet what is my warranty for??! 7) The car is low, almost touching the ground. At first I didn't know that until I parked and you can feel the curb scratching the bottom of front bumper. 8) Choices of color. Limited options. I went with blue. 9) I wanted to return the car in less than a month then decided give it a few more months. Less than 5 months later, I definitely wanted to return it (had no use for AWD). Too late. 10) I like the grade the car gives you. Yep, the car gives you a grade- A, B, C, D, or miserable F to tell you how bad your driving is. What I don't like is, every time I accelerate to pick up speed, it accelerate SLOWWWWLY like if gaping for air. Okay, not a big deal- Ill just go slow.

Automation Toyota in Libertyville was great. I have purchased a number of vehicles from them and highly recommend that location. I purchased a 2021 Toyota Prius and it has been driving very nice. It is smaller than my previous car but it is comfortable inside as well.

This is my first Prius and it’s so cool! It’s like driving a computer. It’s so sleek and gorgeous plus it’s so easy to operate. The drive is smoother than smooth and with how infrequently I go to the pump it’s already saved me money in gas
