Used 2016 Toyota Prius Hatchback Consumer Reviews
Prius that I love yet hate
Low front clearance makes this not drivable to most places. If the roads in your state is well maintained and traffic is not crazy, driving this vehicle will be pleasant experience. My recommendation will be to improve undercarriage safety and robustness.

I bought two of these for taxis, beware people
I bought two of these a 2011 and 2012 and put them in to service as yellow cabs in San Diego. So for the two colors have gone through two hybrid batteries and three engines My total repair bills on the two cars of been $17,000 EachHybrid battery was around 3500 Each hybrid battery blew out at about 150000 to 190,000 miles Blew the head gasket at 200,000 miles Replace the heads then blew them out a month later regular driving nothing crazy I was in the car and the block cracked Replaced the engine with a junkyard engine and blew it out a month later Had to order any engine from Canada remanufactured but the real me almost $3000 and my taxi was out of service for almost a month because of that. The dealerships treated me like garbage and did not give me any leeway considering the fact that I had bought two of these cars All of my friends that own taxis in San Diego are blowing through the engines especially in the heavier V model at about 170 to 250,000 miles you can expect to blow through your engine and guaranteed you'll blow through your hybrid battery before 200,000 miles. Keep in mind that even at a junkyard these engines are going to cost you about $1500 on the low-end because they're in such short supply because of the engines blowing out The 1.8 L engine is too small for the weight of the heavy vehicle it's not a light vehicle by the way. Steer clear of this core or dump it before you get to 150,000 and you'll be OK also one thing to note I have been driving Taxis for 24 years 100 hours a week. The blind spots are terrible out of this car and it's terrible backing it up in a parking lot. Also you'll be slamming on the brakes a lot in traffic because you're sitting so low you can't see what's going on in front of you it's a very very dangerous car please do not buy one of these spare yourself the agony that I have gone through

2016 NO SPARE TIRE - we liked our 2007 so we traded up to a 2016 without looking in the trunk - ridicules toyota - YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELF LET ME SEE ONE OF YOUR EXECUTIVES WAIT 2-3+ HOURS ON THE ROADSIDE WAITING FOR ROADSIDE SERVICE !!!! or better let me see you leave your wife and children stranded in a bad district for 2-3 hours But of course we live in a perfect world and somebody would be there in minutes right! My wife got a flat because of construction 3 times good thing we had a spare!!!!!

Have the dealer throw in a spare tire & wheel!
We have had a nightmare with 6 flat ties in our first 18 months (5 nails or objects in our tires and one poor repair by the dealer), and the 2016 Prius does not have a spare tire! The kit they give you to inject some kind of gel into your tire so you can drive anywhere, ruins the tire and the sensor for tire pressure - so using it costs a lot of money. To add insult to injury, with our 6th flat tire, the tire is ruined and there are NONE in Seattle, so we need to wait 2 days to get a tire from Portland, OR. We are going to replace these tires and plan to buy a wheel (??? $250 or more) so we can have a spare in our garage. No one told us there was no spare tire. and some of the service people at the dealership are also unaware of that problem. The defroster is also terrible and takes a really long time to clear the windshield, and we do not live in a cold city.

2016 Prius interior
We presently own our 4th new Prius (2014) and were going to buy 2017 this summer (2017) , but do not like the "shiny" black info center, cup holder console, new location of the shift lever, lack of upper glove box, and 3" less from the rear seat to the rear hatch which was noticed instantly. The car is also lower and harder to enter and exit. Would liked to have the increased mpg. Thus, we bought a low miles 2015 and will not be buying a 2017; very sorry to say!. We have loved all of the older models we have owned. We hope this review gets to Toyota.........
