This car is fun to drive. There is a visibility issue. It a very smooth ride and handles well. This isn't a sports car so the acceleration isn't there but it has a power mode. Also, there no privacy in the trunk. You can see the entire trunk from the outside. I bought a large bin for this. Otherwise, the more I drive it, the more in love I am. I keep discovering cool techie things. Plus it's a cool looking car. Love the lights. I didn't buy it because it was a hybrid. I bought it because it was cool. The hybrid was just extra. Still love it 7 months later. The dealership tried to convince me to trade up, but I love the 2016 design. FYI only have Toyota work on the vehicle due to the innovative technology. You want someone specifically trained on this model. It usually takes a Master Tech for anything outside of routine maintenance.

The DLRs are too bright, fooling you, when in second position, into thinking the headlights and tail/running lights are on, but you will have no taillights. I just got a warning citation for no tail lights as I was driving with just the dlrs. The daytime lights should be always on in the first position. Then second should be the bright setting, which is really too bright. I had to adust the left headlight down as the factory setting was set too high and blinding oncoming traffic. If I am cresting a hill, with oncoming traffic with bright low beams, I am also blinding oncoming and need to temporarily drop down to second position dlrs with tail lights. I like the driver's seat hight/tilt adjustment. I am over 5' 10" and it makes it much easier for me to enter and exit the car. This also allows people much taller than me to be comfortable driving this vehicle. We drove this car loaded down to New Haven, Connecticut, and we got an average of over 50 mpg with many of those miles at 79 mph. (Don't tell the cops.) Over all I am very happy with thus car

Even happier with our second Prius!

We found the restyled Prius to be quite comfortable and are delighted that the gas mileage is even better than what we got with our 2010. We opted for the advanced technology package in order to add the safety features-lane departure alert, adaptive cruise control, etc.-and we are happy to have done so. (Our insurance rates are actually lower than what they are for the earlier Prius based on those safety features.) The car rides smoothly and easily and is a pleasure to drive. Neither of us was crazy about the white plastic console which looks cheap. Note too that the wireless car charging port won't work with an iphone 6 plus. Finally, we purchased the Level 3 trim because that is the highest level that is available with a spare tire. I, personally, would not buy a car that offered only a repair kit that might or might not be sufficient in an emergency.

Body panel issues

Drives like a normal car but front bumper is low . Very difficult to avoid scraping driveways. Rear hatch makes noises when closing that sounds like it is getting loose . Doesn’t feel as solid as when new and not being able to see how it’s mounted , feels like you could break off the panel with the third brake light. Toyota design a bit weak here since the panel flexes a bit too much . The glass and hinges feel solid , just the tip of the hatch that is body colored feels loose and cheap . Another panel that is delaminating is the rear window corner glossy quarter panel piece of plastic. The clear coat finish has started to deteriorate and peel from the top. My paint is in great condition but my Prius looks awful when you can see this panel’s gloss wearing out. This replacement panel is easy to replace but not cheap , costing close to $100 just for some plastic. You could spend good money to paint or replace but I decided to vinyl wrap it . Looks better now but not quite original but way more inexpensive. Toyota needs to redesign this piece , it’s ruining the look of the otherwise nice looking vehicle. At low speeds backing out brakes or engine makes all kinds of weird clicking noise upon pressing brakes.

OVER 72 MPG

2016 Toyota Prius Two Eco 4dr Hatchback (1.8L 4cyl gas/electric hybrid CVT)

I bought my 2016 Prius Two Eco just a few days before New Years Day of 2017. My drive out price was $20,100 including everything except TTL. Most of my driving has been in town and includes interstate driving of 60 mph. I am hoping to do some intra-city driving soon to see what my mileage will be at 70 mph sustained. ................I have had no problems with the car although I never rate a new car until I put 150.000 miles on it. Right now everything is an A+.
