Save on Gas - Help America

We just bought the car two weeks ago and so far love it. The savings at the pump was the number one reason we bought the car. The ride was very smooth. Like you were driving in a Disney monorail car. I'm a big guy and felt there was enough room for me.

We actually own 2 06 Prii, changing over from a minivan and a 4Runner, we are loving the gas mileage. I expected to miss the cargo space but so far have not at all. Even after a wk long vacation. I avg about 45 and DH avg about 50. I tend to take shorter trips. This vehicle has changed the way we both drive having your mpg showing on the MFD makes you very conscious of what you are doing. We continually get asked about our cars and can say nothing bad about them. Oddly there are now 3 or 4 in my color in our area and we seem to have a commrodery even though I have never met these people. Highly recommended this car is great for people in all walks of life, college grad to retired.

Coasting along

I purchased my Prius about one month ago and I love the car. I purchased the car for environmental reasons and it's living up to my expectations. Mileage is averaging 45-50. Mileage will increase as car breaks in and as temps warm (right now winter in Chicago). Smooth ride. Quiet car. Comfortable seats. Helpful MPG data on a current basis. Nice interior layout with climate and audio controls easily accessed on steering wheel.

I purchased this vehicle after owning a Toyota Matrix 4WD XR for 4 years. I can honestly say the Prius has better and much quieter acceleration. I am averaging 52.5MPG on my second full tank of gas in mostly city driving around Boston! (48MPG on the first tank) I will miss 4WD drive in the winter, but traction control/VSC is better than nothing! The 6 CD changer takes MP3 CDs which means you can record 100-150 songs on a disk (600-900 total song jukebox)!!! If that is not enough there is AUX in in the armrest for IPODS and SAT in for Satellite Radio! It seems to be able to substain 100MPG at speeds between 30-40MPH while coasting with no arrows on the energy display for 2-3 miles at times!

When I first test drove the Prius, it had this noticible drag to it. This was due to the regenerative braking system. I looked at the onboard displays and knew this was the car for me. Right now, thanks to the electric part of the car, I am getting almost 70 mpg. I can't say anything wrong about my car. the milage at the start of the fill is up to 160 without losing fuel. What a car! I like paying for gas, once in a while, not every week.
