Who ever thought that being 'green' would be this easy?! My '04 Prius is sexy looking and fun to drive. I get combined ~45mpg and the car is roomy and comfortable.

I absolutely love this car the gas mileage is excellent and even meets and exceeds the mpg when in ideal situations (lots of stop and go, coasting down hill, etc). However I don't attain it too often because I have a lead foot and live in a small city that doesn't see too many stops. Most of my gas usage is spent when the gas engine recharges the battery after starting. The spoiler in back seems to be a little delicate. I'm afraid I'll break it if I slam the trunk too hard. Also, the interior should be more resilient. I've already noticed that the paint is peeling on the glove compartment. Maybe Toyota or an accessories shop could design covers to customize or conceal the original look.

Greatest thing since sliced bread

I have 64K miles and have only replaced tires & wiper blades. I average 52 MPG, mostly driven at 50-55 mph. There is a learning curve to getting good MPG. I use the cruise control all the time, even in city driving. It works down to 24 MPH! Consistent speed is the key. The ride and handling is great. Fun car to drive. I'm getting another this year.

2nd best car I ever owned

With 75000 miles after a late 2005 purchase, I have had zero problems with this car. Gas mileage average is probably 48 -- never less than 45 -- often above 50, and this is mostly city driving. Oh yea, my number 1 favorite car was my 1995 Porsche 911 convertible -- I actually used the proceeds from the sale of that car to purchase the Prius.

Best decision I ever made

I have had my Prius for five days now and know this was the best car decision I have ever made. Due to demand, I paid more than I wanted to, but it is worth it. The car is so cool! Although it looks like a small car my family of four fits comfortably and we can haul our the kids sports equipment from place to place. The fuel economy doesn't live up to the sticker, but it's still great. I have averaged 48 miles to the gallon. The features are very 21st century and do take some getting used to, but they are fun and easy to use. I would recommend this car to anyone.
