Be careful_Airbags might be faulty
My 2024 Toyota Highlander XLE hybrid was involved in a severe head-on collision. The damage was extensive enough to total the car. The bumper was bent and thrown open. The fender shattered into pieces. The engine was heavily damaged and visibly exposed and protruded. Fluids were leaking everywhere. Both front doors were warped and didn’t open or close properly. YET, the airbags did not deploy. A technician at the body shop says the airbags must have been defective. Be cautious. Also, EVERY ******* time I started the car, Toyota would push "buy subscription" msg. So annoying. How does one feel if one encounters the same salesperson five times a day? Not buying a Toyota again.

Rediculously invasive technology piece of crap
No GPS without a smartphone and subscription. WTF? Totally invasive computer controlled "safety" features. Like driving a noisier clumsier Prius. What a scam. The nav system is the most non-intuitive nightmare I've ever touched, and 20 X's worse than my 2010 Sequoia limited, and if you don't happen to have a smart phone it likes, or your phone happens to go dead in the middle of nowhere- too [non-permissible content removed] bad. The 14 year old Sequoia I was considering replacing with 251000 mile 5.7 V8, is quieter, smoother, way more powerful, drives better, has better visibility, and will actually seat 7 adults comfortably. The ONLY thing thing the highlander does better is gas mileage, but for the price and aggravation it's a compete clown show and total waste of money. This suv belongs to my elderly mother- when the gps does work, it has on several occasions routed her HRS out of a reasonable route to her destination. I would have never believed that Toyota would build such a piece of crap if I hadn't witnessed this first hand after driving it for several days. I ended up sticking my old garmin nuvi on the windshield so we could find our way around the new town she moved to. My Mom got totally scammed, and ya, I'm p.o.! Don't buy one.
