2025 Toyota Corolla

So ubiquitous is the Toyota Corolla, it seems everyone has either owned one or known someone who has. Since the early 1970s and over 12 generations, for many the little sedan is still the standard bearer when it comes to affordable, reliable and easy-to-use transportation. There's nothing particularly flashy about the Corolla, and that's largely the point.

The 2025 Corolla is pretty much unchanged, but there's certainly a redesign coming up at some point. What might you expect from a new Corolla? Fresh styling, a newly styled interior and additional technology to keep pace with its increasingly competitive compact car rivals seem the most likely upgrades. In the meantime, you might check out the new-for-2025 FX Special Edition. Built off the SE grade, the Corolla FX Special Edition features a rear spoiler, lowering springs, 18-inch black-painted alloy wheels and blacked-out exterior trim.

Crossovers and SUVs are more popular overall than sedans, but there's still plenty of competition for the Corolla. The two most obvious are the Honda Civic and Kia K4; the former is an Edmunds Top Rated award winner while the latter is a brand-new vehicle, replacing the old Kia Forte, with sophisticated styling and lots of standard tech. There's a new Nissan Sentra on the horizon, too, which should bring a modern design and lots of standard features at a low price point. The Hyundai Elantra is another compelling option, and can be had with an efficient hybrid powertrain, too.
