Toyota now a days are not built to last

I bought a 2018 Toyota Corolla in Nov 2019 with mileage around 34000 miles from Hertz sales. I assumed Toyota is built to last. But In May 2020, the AC compressor failed when the car mileage was around 38900 miles. Now I was without bumper to bumper coverage and it cost me another $1300 approx to fix the compressor. Could not believe a Toyota Corolla to have such a bad quality build. The one year extended warranty provided by Hertz Sales was useless for this car as the powertrain warranty is already covered by Toyota Powertrain warranty. So be aware!

Avid Corolla lover, disappointed.

This is my 4th Corolla. I previously had a 2002, 2009 and 2014. My 2018 Corolla is a manual SE. I bought with 32,000kms on it. 2 months later at 40,000kms I am looking to trade it in for something else. This car is by far the most gutless Corolla I have ever driven. It struggles to pass other vehicles, has a hard time going up hills and accelerates slowly. I take a lot of long road trips, this car is awful for them. Very uncomfortable to sit in for long periods of time and is a tight space if you have a passenger. The cruise control is useless, picks up speed and doesn't let off the accelerator going down hill. Going up hill, it won't hold speed even though I gear down. Auto high beams shut off randomly so I have to switch lights from Auto to On just to have working high beams. Very loud on the highway. By far the loudest Corolla I've had, it gives me a headache. Burns oil when going up hills at highway speeds. Blue tooth sometimes disconnects and I have to shut the car off and back on again to get it working again. The handling on the highway is very bad. If you touch the brakes going over 115kms/h, it feels like you're going to lose control. Even just driving highway speeds, the car feels like youre driving on wet roads. I was hoping that the acceleration issues everyone else was talking about was just because CVT transmissions are garbage, but mine is a manual so turns out, new Corollas in general are just garbage.

Sunny little car!!

Lacking in comfort and upgraded options, being just an LE model, but I love driving it! I've had many sports cars in "younger years", I'll be turning 53 in a few months, and this Corolla reminds me of the 85 Pontiac Fiero I had in 1987. My Corolla is not the fastest due to having a basic engine unfortunately being a used 1 owner car. The Sport Mode is great for needing quicker acceleration and with having the shifting option seems to help me feel more relaxed running down Interstate at/over limits in bumper to bumper rush hour. Would of really been great having a turbo on the engine like the 2015 Escape SE w/Ecoboost I traded in to buy my Corolla. Interior on my car is very disappointing, to be truthful, only due to the LE package and because I traded an Escape w/many options down to the Corolla. But, due the situation(s), I needed a vehicle getting better gas mileage to drive my wife to specialized surgeons and oncologists for a little under a year.(Lost the love of my life over 25 years in July of 2020.) I do feel that I can definitely put in better Interior parts to make it much better though. I have to be honest, I love the body designs, of both the Corolla and Camry! Toyota done great on the front and rear ends of them. It's fun to see people gawking at it while I'm running around doing errands, my Corolla has dark tinted windows, no chrome/murdered out, black rims and soon to be tinted head/taillights w/LED bulbs throughout all of it besides just the headlights. This year, I haven't been as picky as I usually am towards keeping my car 100% show quality due to many factors, just don't have the energy to do the detailing and since I'm alone now, no longer feel like going out to cruise. Finally, there's 1 more major issue to be aware of that's causing me some stressful problems. For the many of people that's had lower back surgeries, I'm fused from L1-S1, or even back issues...when I bought my Corolla, I was having a great "back" day and was able to get in/out of it w/o any issues...now, almost 2 and a half years later, I'm having numerous days of struggling to get in/out of it due to how low it sits...might be due to heighth and lack of strength now... Yet, for an economy car that's easier on your pocket and still has a great look to it, you won't go wrong with buying 1! Living on a limited income since 2014 has really been a major change in my life and having to determine if it's something that I want or do I need it...I went from at the most, 25 city/32 highway with the Escape SE and upto 34 city/41 highway with my Corolla. With gasoline prices being at $3.39/gallon where I live (even higher in other locations), getting my Corolla was definitely a great choice. I'm willing to do the upgrades myself with the money I'm saving towards gasoline and insurance!

I purchased my Corolla at Toyota Universe Little Falls NJ. My Sales Agent was Jo Polanco! Great Sales Agent. Helped me through ever step. He showed me every car I was interested in, provided details and features of the car, was helpful and friendly throughout the whole time I spent at the dealership. Jo Polanco was there from start to finish. He was very determined to make sure that I left satisfied and received the vehicle I wanted with a contract that is unbeatable ! I am 100% coming back to Jo Polanco at Toyota Universe Little Falls NJ whenever I want to upgrade to a newer Toyota vehicle!

Like a go-kart

I’ve had this 2 months so far. My Tacoma has frame replaced and they gave me this. It’s buzzy like a go kart, the car on the highway is quite terrifying. It can’t handle its self at high speeds and drifts around the road like its on water. Also the acceleration is a dog. It can’t move fast enough to pass anyone. Then there is the defrost that doesn’t work much...and this car has 8k miles. It leaves a haze on window and makes it more scary in winter than is in this car. I’m sure it’s reliable but I hate it
