Defects in design
whenever something is wrong with the car, Toyota's answer is: the car is designed like that. The GPS is designed to take me to addresses several miles from their actual location. it is designed to take me in circles and it is designed to take me several miles into dead end streets. (I paid about $ 1,500 Dollars for this feature and have to stick my 4 year old Garmin onto the windshield). Also, I got a speeding ticket because the speedometer is designed to be unreadable when the sun shines through the window. Within a few months I have seen several 2014 Corollas driving with the taillights off.
2014 Corolla-S, 6-M/T
This small car is light weight and handles the road very well and gets 32mpg avg. It has a quiet ride and great interior but no holder for coins like my Camry has.

Not what I was expecting
I drove the car for a few weeks before I had to get rid of it, power was horrible, fuel mileage was subpar even compared to my v8 camaro. The weight was too light for safe driving in any road conditions, consistently hydroplaned in the rain and had to fight it to drive straight while passing another vehicle. The power is extremely poor and the interior looked mixed together. The only good thing was the exterior appearance and I even found that lacking. The ride quality was very poor too, had to get out of the car after thirty minutes to stretch because the seats lacked poor support.
GAS GUZZLER
Someone told a big lie about the gas mileage on this car - it is terrible. I had a 91 volvo and was paying the exact amount for gas without the car payment. If gas mileage is a concern... go with a hybrid... this is absolutely not your car
Know Your Priorities
Overall I rate my car a 5. If you read auto magazines they rate the cars on performance mostly. The Corolla is not a sports car , don`t judge it that way. What it is , is a very dependable car. It has very good gas mileage. Since my last odo reset I am at a 38.5 mpg average over 2000 miles . Over the winter I had a 32 mpg average. Cars use more gas running cold. very comfortable ride and seats. If you look at the mpg ratings the Corolla does better than most cars that are smaller than it.Love the look of the dash , all the other cars basically look the same dash . It is very similar to the Avalon dash. Also rear seats have more room than the bigger Chrysler 200. My brother who owns a Ford Edge rode back their one day and was very surprised at the room. The absolute only minor negative comment is that it could use more sound deadening, rode noise is a little more than I like. It`s not bad , but could be better.Still think the Corolla is a fine car and has had no trouble or issues now with 35k miles.

Problem with Corolla
I recently purchased a 2014 Toyota Corolla. I really like the car, except for 2 concerns: 1. the average mile/gallon on the sticker (highway & local) is inflated. I've checked the web and apparently there is no federal oversight to ensure the correct mileage is posted. 2. the car has 2 plastic "rods" that are on both sides of the car (vertically) clipped to the under-carriage. Last winter during the snow, I was driving out of an icy spot an to my surprise, there was a long gray plastic rod on the road. It was from my new car. I have submitted a complaint to Toyota...poor quality and engineering. Maybe they'll recall and fix this issue.
Won’t buy Toyota again
I have this 2014 corolla. My first Toyota purchase and will be my last. I finished paying off my car last year in 2019. Last year the paint also stated peeling off from the top around the sunroof. The radio also went out in 2019. Funny how months after I finished paying off this car it start falling apart. I have the blue crush color and sports model. I’ve always thought the paint was very sensitive compared to my GMC Yukon. By far I think this car is cheap and not worth the 24,000 I paid. I thought this car would last me a very very long time. I was wrong it’s been six and I have to get paint job and new radio. Toyota said there is nothing they can do on this, it’s just wear and tear they stated, on a 6 year old car. So this 6 year old car looks like a junk with the top peeling off and no radio. I don’t recommend this brand and they have never backed up any services with the car. I just went to my local dealership for a recall and they forgot (or chose not to mention) last recall from last month of airbags being faulty and won’t work in case of accident. Their is no repair yet so all they can offer is a rental. How could they let me drive away like that? How has Toyota let these 2014 Corollas drive for 6 years and no airbags? How are they getting awards for safety? Aren’t these cars tested? So no I don’t recommend Toyota to anyone. Let’s by safer and more reliable. I at least don’t buy cars every 5-6 years.

I love my Ride
I love how user friendly this car is. It is very smooth and has great insulation as well. The one thing I don't like is that it appeals more to Iphone users than Android.

SORRY SORRY
I am so sorry I purchased this car without some one more knowledgeable than me to look it over. I paid cash $12,700.00 for the car and should have never did it as I purchased it in a rush and was moving across state in 2 days. Before I had the car 7 days I had to pay $179.00 to have an oil leak fixed, however the dealer is suppose to send me a check for the repair. I had many scratches on the paint, a dent under the right door, I did not see and my front under panel if it is called that on the drivers side has a large crack in it which will most definitely have to be fixed. I am so upset about my car if I could get my money back I would. I take pride in our cars as we have only had 2 new ones and several used ones. I was told this car would last me for a long period of time, but with these things looking me in the eye each time I go to get into it I do not think so. I only live on social security and the sale of my husband's boat and truck was the only way I had cash to pay for this car. My husband is in long term care and I am and have been his caregiver for many years. I will never have the money to pay for another car as I have had to move into my son's home to have a place that I could live.

Reliability and great looks.
I'm the last person one would expect to be seen in a Corolla, but I still got one! I shopped around and compare the Civic, the Mazda 2, 3, the Focus, the Elantra GT and the Accent. My previous two cars were fast turbo cars with plenty of power and handling. The Mazda 3 is definitely faster than the Corolla, and handles better. So why did I pick the Corolla instead of the Mazda? It felt like the most luxurious car of the bunch, with a decent ride, at a price others couldn't beat. I have everything I always wanted in one package with the "S", no need for additional 1200 Moonroof and other expensive options. The Mazda comes close, but it was more expensive.

Super fun, sporty and reliable
I was looking to down size from my Suburban and get a more fuel efficient car and not such a mom car! LOL! . I owned it for 4 years and I loved my little red car! Never gave me any problems. Super fun to drive and sporty looking. So glad that they redesigned the Corolla otherwise I would have went with the Civic!

Both better and worse than expected!
Excellent basic cheaper car with good gas mileage, good brakes, and good drivability. A little noisy, but like most in its class. Cruise control is terrible with any hills on your trip. No real cupholders, power outlets, or USB plugs in the back even though this is NOT the low end Corolla. The seat material stains way too easily and can't be cleaned, even by the dealer. The floor "carpet" is NOT carpet, but felt---which CANNOT be vacuumed or really cleaned well at all. It is the worst floor material I have ever had since my first car(of many) since 1962! Bought used with 7000 miles, I took it to my dealer every 500 miles for checkup and service. At 38K, I took off the wheel to check the brakes and found the inside of the rotors were heavily grooved while the outside was barely used. The calipers were BOTH frozen. Unfortunately, neither brakes or calipers are covered under any warranty, and the dealership (Acton Totoya) offered me nothing when I showed them the problem! How could they have missed such a big problem if they really checked my car over each time? I fixed it all myself and now, with 68K, have had NO more problems with the brakes. The plastic front overhang is too low and has broken off twice when hitting the curb stones in parking lots while parking at low speed. The left front two speakers have not worked since about 10K and I haven't taken the door apart to find out why, but heard there is a problem with the door wiring just above the lower speaker. I really miss a power driver's seat with two drivers using it regularly. Except for the brakes thing, it has been an economical and zippy commuter car, but I will definitely go back to the Camry next time!

2014 Corolla great got rear ended 4 mths later!
I loved my Toyota Corolla S Premium and got a sweet deal on it. Bought it used and four months later got rear ended and the car I fell in love with was totaled! I was so upset. I loved that car so I went to Carmax determined to get that same car and I did, even the same color, except I got a model year newer along with a couple of upgrades from the 2014 model. I am happy I have my car back!

Perfect commuter car
After driving SUVs for 2 years, I knew they were not what I needed. I missed my Corollas. Divine intervention occurred when I told my Honda CRV in an accident. I was able to find the perfect Corolla and I haven't looked back. The only thing I would zing this model on is the lack of a rear windshield wiper. It also doesn't have the blind spot detection system that I like, where the arrows show up on your mirror. It has small round mirrors instead, which I don't find as effective. But otherwise, a typical Corolla work horse. Great gas mileage, easy to drive and maintain.
