Used 2009 Toyota Corolla Consumer Reviews
Great Basic Car
Great car. Don't understand the steering problem with some people. At 80 miles per hour on the interstate car runs smoothly, very quiet and stays in line.
Love this car!
My first Toyota and I'm very glad to bought it! It's a blast to drive. My job requires about 5-6 short trips per day, so mostly city driving with some highway miles daily. I am consistently getting 37-38 mpg and just loving that! I can't wait to go on a real trip with the highway miles and see what I get. I am thrilled with how quiet it runs. You can stand right next to it and wouldn't be able to hear it running. Best car I've ever owned.
Wish I stayed with Honda
Disappointed after 7 months. Interior plastic trim is already breaking and seems to scuff easily. 2 major repairs (sunroof rattling & seat height adjustment would not hold). Seat is still not working correctly. Sound system not great. No rear dome light, no glove box light or lock, no lights on visor mirrors. Cloth upholstery is a dirt magnet (unless you buy Toyota's protection package). Wipers don't work when there's frost on the window, until the car warms up. I bought this to replace my gas guzzling Honda mini van. Corolla = about 30 MPG with mixed freeway and street driving which I consider very good. Wish I'd stuck with Honda. Had looked at the Fit. More bang for the buck.
First Toyota
I was either going to buy a Yaris or the Corolla and when I drove up to the lot there was a Barcelona red Corolla and a red Yaris. The salesman thought I should get the Corolla because of the more roominess and other options. Best friend has a Yaris and he gloats how it gets better mileage but I don't think I have made a mistake in getting the Corolla. I put about fifty miles a day in it so I was looking for fuel economy and I love the style of this car. The color turns many heads and it drives great! I get about 31 miles a gallon in the winter and it goes up to 35 in the summer. Eighty percent of my driving is freeway. Its a great car.
Thank you Shay Wilson
My wife and I were looking for a reliable car with excellent gas mileage. We found it. My wife drives about 30,000 miles a year for her job. This car is perfect. It has lots of room and the back seats fold down for our hiking equipment. We love the great gas mileage.
