Used 1999 Toyota Celica Consumer Reviews
Awsome car
it IS QUICK, RELIABLE, LOOKS GOOD
good overall with one exception
Overall I am happy with the '99 Celica GT. The exterior has sporty curves and an aggressive stance. The interior is comfortable. The easy to read dials and ergonomic front seats make driving enjoyable. The exterior and interior designs definitely are a good combination of sport and luxury.

Celica STX
I bought a rare Celica ST (base 1.8L engine) with all power options and a sports package that includes 15" BBS alloy rims, a power moonroof and a spoiler, with the STX badging. It's been a great car so far, and I don't ever want to trade it in. It's taken me from Louisville to Memphis and from Louisville to Toronto, and runs like a champ. I drive with the pedal to the floor and the automatic transmission is the smoothest I've ever felt.
Perfect First Car for Teen Boy or Girl
This is my first car, my grandparents handed it down to me over a year ago and it's been a solid car since. The reason I say it's a perfect first car is because for boys, it's a sports car that's rare to find in good condition and always turns heads when I drive it, people come up to me and compliment it or tell me they once drove it when they were younger. It demands attention, which is rare for a cheap widely produced car. It's not very modifiable but it's modifiable enough for a teen boy to be happy with hands on with the car, which is something I believe every man or woman should be able to do. If you don't find modifying interesting, it's still a perfect car to maintain as it's a simple and solid car with a simple and solid engine. For me, it was fun switching all the lights to LED's and getting new tires and cleaning it up in places that are rarely cleaned. It's a simple, cheap, stylish first car. Every replacement part has been very cheap and easy to obtain and use. Due to the lack of driving aids like traction control, it builds a drivers skills to learn the road without the new and sometimes dangerous technology we have. The celicas steering demands a bit more strength than new cars but not very much. It's not the fastest car in the world but it feels fast for how low and weightless it is. You can get the adrenaline without having to go deep in the speedometer. The handling is just as fun, nothing crazy but enough to feel adrenaline without much danger. Some say it's cramped on long trips but with how low it is and how small it is, everything in the car is in reach so if you drop anything you can grab it and still have an eye on the road unlike larger cars, the gas mileage is much better than originally advertised and even when I drive it in high RPM all the time, it still gets good gas mileage. High RPM in the celicas 5SFE engine doesn't bother it at all, it lives in the higher RPM's, so full throttle gets the adrenaline and won't get you into the speeds a cop will pull you over, it's a win win, both wins for the driver. The only downside is it's really only a 2 seater cause nothing really fits in the back, but i never use it unless i have stuff to put there. Celicas will leak and burn oil somewhere but as long as you replace the oil, it'll last longer than any car on the road, except for a celica that gets it's oil changed more frequently. I've straight piped my car, given it a brand new air intake, gotten LED's, new tires, and several other new parts and it still runs the same, turns more heads, and is still worth a few thousand. It's a great first car for so many reasons. If a boy wants something sporty, get a celica, parts are cheap, mods are cheap, it'll gain attention if it's kept well, and it'll teach them about maintaining a car and how to find a car later in their life that's as reliable and worth buying like the celica, i've learned a lot about the Celica and it's made me want to upgrade it more and more. 10/10 car

As good or better than the new cars of its class
It's always been garaged. It belonged to my mother who was 90 when she passed it on to me. She bought it new and maintained it regularly and kept all the records. The color is a metallic dk. gold, with gold front and rear plating on the emblems and antennae tip. A couple of minor scratches where the trunk opens and a small paint scratch on the driver side door but no dents. The interior upholstery is excellent and with no tears. The tires are new Perelli with black and polished black twisted spokes size 16 radials. The stereo is new with cd and usb, with four spkrs. New top of the line Sears diehard battery. New wipers. Power adj. outside mirrors. Couldn't be much better if new. I rarely ever see this year and model on the road. It had 49300 miles when I aquired it.
