I almost bought the wrong car
After 500 miles on a new rental vehicle I realized this is not a highway vehicle. Highway driving is my job and this Camry was all over the road and bouncy at times...must be the little tires. Seating... for long periods of time is uncomfortable. The cruise control position is almost dangerous and hard to operate. Using the center console while driving is dangerous..it is located too far back. The tilt wheel only offered slight differences.
Toyota Camry xle v6
Althought I have only approximately 2000 miles on my Camry, I believe I have formed some clear opinions on its quality. The ride is terrific. It is not a sport sedan, however it handles quite well and should satisfy the vast majority of drivers. The v6 has enough power for the preponderance of American drivers and is quiet and smooth. The overall build quality is excellent.
Large Blind Spots make it less then good
Its been about 7 month since I have this vehicle. Its quite and powerful vehicle with lots of room. Everything is build nice and works well. Drove it 600 miles in one go and no problem. The mileage I am getting is about 18 in city and 23 on highway.
Excellent Sedan
This is a terrific car. Quiet interior, smooth ride, and nice engine.
It's a Lexus Jr.!
It is meant to be a larger family car that is more refined in nature and has a long, long, history of auto reliability. That Camry's nature is reflected in smoothness and comfort. It's a Lexus ES300 Jr! The Camry is a great car for the price. It has a wonderfully quiet cabin (minus the crisp tire/road response) and looks and feels like a much more expensive car. Handling could be improved, as well as the horsepower, but my wife and I are quite pleased with the 2003 Camry.
