I've grown out of raucus rides, so this is a very quiet change. It might just be the perfect daily driver. Maybe not the fastest, but no other coupe in its range can match its overall elegance,. That goes double for the "base" SE. Nice surprise: the Four-cylinder with the 5-speed Automatic is not unlike a smooth, small 6 in the mid-range (once the Variable Timing gets going), and I'm getting 32 MPG so far to boot (according to the well-placed mileage guage). The dedicated manual sequential shift mode (all 5 speeds) even makes you feel like Shumacher (Ralf, if not Michael), complete with the numerical display in the dash. I'm older, but not TOO old, and this fits the bill almost exactly

Excellent acceleration off the line... Sequential transmission is extremely responsive. This car is very similar to its cousin (IS 300) by Lexus.

I always was intrigued by Toyotas but never found 1 that I wanted, or not @ a great price. The choice was between this & the Accord coupe. This won because it had more equipment & was an '06. The car rides great, excellent power, 5 speed automatic & nice, leather seats. Body is supurbly tight! Engine revs to 2100 rpm when cold, too high? Redlines @ only 5800 rpm, maybe because max torque is @ 3500 rpm? JBL stereo is awesome. It's an American made Toyota, assembled in Georgetown, KY. If you can get a good deal on a Solara, buy it!!

I bought this car to commute in and it has been a dream. I moved from a Lexus to the Solara so that I could have a cheap commuter vehicle. No compomises in build quality and getting 10 more mpg. I also like the fact that my Sirius radio fits in the space inside the dash. Rear of the car looks like a SC 430. Sweeet.

Just bought my new 06 Solara a week ago. It is totally fun to drive! Took it up to Whistler, BC...great trip! Took about 4 hours and the Solara was comfortable the entire trip up and back. I have owned two Camrys, and a Celica and I love this new Solara.
