My Toyota Solara was the best car I've ever owned.
I bought my Solara new in December of 1998 even though it is a 1999 and it has been the best car I've ever owned. The gas mileage is unbelievable as is the cost to own. Change the oil regularly and your good to go. Fast forward to 2016 and I still own my 1999 Solara that's how good of a car it's been.

the car
It is fast for a toyota. The storage space is decent in the trunk but you might have trouble getting some things in the trunk because the clearance isn't amazing. It has never not started. I expect it to keep running into the 300g of milage and I run it pretty hard into high rpm often. It can get to 60 mph in less the 7 sec. the interior is well built and looks nice but the seats don't last. Sound system is very nice and can be very loud.

Great Solara
Best car (of about 15) that I've ever owned. Only problems, driver's window mechanism, transmission solenoid, and struts - all replaced after 60k miles. Haven't needed to replace orginal brakes yet with 88k miles on vehicle. (20k miles cross country driving included.)
Great Car Fun to Drive
Bought the SE V6 5-speed manual brand new in Dec '98, shipped from the factory, arriving in Jan '99. Still enjoy driving it 11 years later. Regular maintenance is all that has been needed - the total cost of ownership cannot be beat. It is a sporty car that has an actual usable backseat and large trunk. At 153,000 miles, I'm sure it has many more miles left.
Extremely reliable, quiet ride
Love this car! It drives likes a Lexus. I have owned the 1999 Solara SLE V6 since it was new. I have had few problems with it in the 11 years. Get the leather in this car! It is unbelievably comfortable. I would love to drive a Prius for the gas mileage but I'm keeping my classic as long as I can.
