Used 2018 Toyota Camry Hybrid XLE 4dr Sedan (2.5L 4cyl gas/electric hybrid CVT) Consumer Reviews
miscalculation
Toyota certainly miscalculated when they decided to forgo a true on board navigation system for their own terrible system. Scout is a phone based system but the better phone nav apps are unavailable, only the oversimplified and inadequate Scout The entune 3 system does not work with the current apple ios systems. When the phone is tethered to car, the totally inadequate scout maps are available but the other entune 3 apps are NOT. To get the other included apps the phone must be unattached and Bluetooth is used. The claim by Toyota that their system will not encourage distracted driving is completely false as to use the entune 3 system the phone must be connected for navigation and unattached for all other entertainment apps, Pandora etc. Distracting to say the least as the driver must plug in and out constantly as you drive, It may be true that Apple has sabotaged entune 3 because Toyota refused to use car play prior to the 20118 model year. Why did Toyota not use apple car play? They state it is to discourage distracted driving, It more realistically involves licensing fees. If you want a true navigation system and useable internet entertainment apps DO NOT GET THIS VEHICLE.

Buyer beware MPG "estimated"
I've had my 2018 Toyota Camry XLE Hibrid for only 2,000 miles and average 36 MPG. Very disappointing when you expect 46 MPG. Dealership checked the car and there are no errors stored so no problem, right? Service told me it's due to cold weather. Over 20% loss in fuel efficiency is unacceptable.

DO NOT BUY THIS CAR !!!!!!
I bought my new 2018 Cambry on June 22, 2018 When we picked the car up the GPS did not work. We were told that it was because our mobile phone was not up to date and their phone did not have the proper password for our unit. We purchased the latest smart phone and it still didn't work. Took it back to the dealer and all they could do was give us the phone # of tech support. My wife has spent 15 to 20 hours trying to get the problem solved to no avail. We also had to buy a second smart phone so we could each have one to drive this car. We found out that after three years Entune charges for their navigation system. Yesterday my wife researched this problem on line and found hundreds of similar complaints. So far Toyota is doing nothing to resolve this issue. Today my dealer, Vaden Toyota in Sylacauga, Al, told me he has never heard of a similar problem and to bring it in (again) and he would have someone look at it (again). Had we known that the navigation system required smart phones to operate and would be so difficult to set up we would not have purchased the car.

"Highly rated"
1. Gas mileage: very good. 2.Comfort:good 3. Interior silence: good 4. dash layout: good 5.electronics: good WHAT IS BAD: the dash lighted items too dim, even at max brightness. Eg: the compass on rearview mirror: too dim to see. Getting in/out: very restricted even for a small person like me (5'7"). Owner's Manual: very difficult to use. Eg: mixes "Navigation" with GPS guided navigation, which is not even covered in manual. In retrospect, I should have paid for attention to the Honda Accord Hybrid, which I now rate above the Toyota Camry Hybrid XLE. Especially in the lighted dash. YOU WILL HAVE MOST DIFFICULTY TO USE THE CAMRY HYBRID DASH. One good feature: good Heads Up display.

2018 Camry Hybrid
My 2007 Camry Hybrid was a very reliable car that offered good mileage. The 2018 is definitely a better car with a load of safety features. The design is great since they got rid of the blandness usually associated with a Camry. Update, after 27000 miles no issues to report. After 31000 miles the Camry Hybrid is still trouble free and is getting over 50Mpg when EPA rated at 46. After 50,000. Still trouble free, great mileage and just routine maintenance. 55,000 trouble free miles. Happy to be getting 48 to 50 mpg with the $5 gas. 60,000 trouble free miles. No issues to report. 65000 trouble free miles and mpg averages 49 to 50. 75,000 trouble free miles and no issues to report. Just doing oil/filter changes as recommended every 5,000 miles. 87,000 trouble free miles and no issues to report. Just doing oil/filter changes as recommended every 5,000 miles. Still getting 47 to 50 MPG in the warmer weather. 91,000 miles mostly trouble free. The 12volt battery failed without warning but a quick replacement took care of that issue.
