Used 2007 Toyota Camry Hybrid Consumer Reviews
Love that 40 mpg
In California I drove in more stop and go traffic and my mileage was 37 mpg on trips 40. Now living in Northwest and mpg has been 40 all the time until they just changed to the summer gas mixture. I have lost 1 to 2 mpg. A relative owns a 2005 Prius and she loses 2 mpg each summer also in Calif driving. It does not handle well in the snow if there is ice the traction control kicks in as soon as you start to slip so you can't use the gas to try and get out of it. It will need snow tires this next summer.
Initial Evaluation
Just bought the car. Have to get used to the larger window view blocking caused by airbag adjustments in the car's design. Between the adjustment and accommodating to the car's slower take off response it is a little tricky learning to move out into traffic from a side road. I am beginning to catch on and adjust. The car is responsive, but who wants to full throttle a hybrid when you are not in a pinch? It has a smooth quiet ride, sometimes eerily quiet. It took me a while to figure out how to dim the night light level on the instrument panel. There is a lot of light around the CD player. I am getting about 38 miles to the gallon, local non-expressway.

the way to go!
i have owned the tc hybrid now for 4 months & despite a rapping sound coming from the driver a/c vent, it is a great car to drive. will bring the car into the dealership to have them correct this noise. fuel mileage, once i figured out how to go into battery mode has steadily increased with the current tank at 40+ in town. there really is not a thing negative to say about this car. i have been stopped several times by people wanting to know about it and go into it. never had that happen before. if you can grab one before the tax breaks disappear, do it!
Good gas mileage
I have 2007 Camry Hybrid (standard) for more than two years and have learned how to drive it to get good gas mileage: 45 MPG for a full tank average. Note that all batteries are on rear side of the car and the trunk is small.
MPG better on highway
I initially was disappointed with the mileage at 29 mpg in the city. I took a 500 mi highway trip and averaged 44 mpg. I am currently getting 32mph, and I baby the car (slow takeoffs, gliding, etc.) I anticipate the mileage will drop to the basic Camry mpg when I am using the heater in the winter, and the car doesn't shut off at stops. I suspect the car performs better in warmer areas than cold. The navigation has been adequate, but, gives different routes than my Garmin Nuvi. Bluetooth works well. The sound system is adaquate, but, not exceptional. The trunk is small, but functional. The slope of the window allows for excess condensation and lots of water wiping.
