Superb car

Very nice smooth and quiet ride with plenty of "muscle". Large trunk space; dash board very well laid out. The audio components and systems are excellent with both CD and tape player. Anticipating the excellent maintenance and service of the Toyota vehicles and so far, I am experiencing it. The "hi-tech" rear view mirror with garage door opener, gate opener and its auto-dimming feature is a nice feature. The gas cap release and trunk opener conveniently placed in this model. A lot of improvements over the 2000 Toyota Avalon that I had and excellent trade in value that it had when I bought the present Avalon.

When I first saw this car I asked my wife how much did she think it cost? She replied,"forty or forty five thousand". I walked up,looked at the sticker and got "reverse sticker shock". It was about 28,900.00. Hmmmm. I drove it - it was fast with little torque steer for FWD. The back seat was limo size and the drivers seat had many possible positions as well as an inflatable lumbar support. The stereo is adequate but I will be replacing all the speakers and adding an amp (all Alpine). The brakes are adequate but I may be replacing with Brembo later. The Touring suspension is better than the other Avalons but I still would like some bigger sway bars. A great bargain sedan!

This vehicle had everything I wanted and more. I love the way it drives on the highway. I like the way it accelerates. I like the smart start feature. It has so many features that are standard that you can't remember them all when you are showing friend and family. This car is a looker!!!! The back reclining seats are a big hit with everyone. I like everything about this car.

I went from the Camry to Avalon in 1995 and this is my 5th Avalon. I have waited almost a year for this redesigned model. It is everything I expected and more, easily the best one yet. Exciting power, with such ease and the amenities are more than I expected. Inside and out, I am extremely pleased with this new model.

Best Car in US for the Price

2005 Toyota Avalon XLS 4dr Sedan (3.5L 6cyl 5A)

The 2005 Avalon XLS is awesome. It performs best at higher speeds, where it purrs like a cat and seems most at ease. The torque is amazing and can put you out in front of cocky kids in sports cars. You can challenge a Chrysler 300 on long stretches and leave almost all but the big BEAMERS disappearing in your rearview mirror. The only downside is getting used to the computerized shifting program which can seem bizarre and confused. Also the the brake pedal is mushy to the extent you feel you are losing fluid and the pedal is going to the floor... but in reality the pedal is reacting to various pressure intensities -- and it takes getting used to in order to feel confident.
