Used 1998 Toyota Avalon Consumer Reviews
1998 avalon
This has been the most reliable car I have ever owned. Aside from the road noise, there has not been a complaint about the car in the five years we have owned it.
135,000 Miles and Won't Part With It!
The best car I have ever owned. There is nothing on the market now that can replace it - especially in the area of looks (Toyota's new offerings - including the new "2006" Avalon - are SOOO ugly!). I have passed 135,000 miles on this vehicle and am hoping for at least 200,000. Very little has gone wrong with this car outside of normal wear and tear and auxillary things like batteries and tires that Toyota has nothing to do with. Significant repairs lately were a new steering rack last month (leaking seals) and a complete brake job last year. Other than that, routine replacements. It will be a very hard and sad day when I trade this guy in!

Great Car
We bought this car used with 68,000 miles on it. My wife is in sales and drives over 30,000 miles per year. We now have 248,000 miles on the car and it runs good as new. It is time for valve cover gaskets as they are now leaking but I have no faults with this car at all. Love it!
I love my AVALON
I love this car and would have to say that bringing it home reminds me of when my father brought home his ultimate car- a 1962 Cadillac(the one with the big fins)- he was so thrilled and excited and so am I. It is stylish, posh, and comfortable as well as practical and fun to drive. The ride is like floating on a cloud with no sound. It drives like a dream and all you hear inside is the great sound system. This is my ultimate car and will probably be my last car as I plan on keeping it for a long time.
The Avalon--a Great Car
The only thing I don't like about my Avalon is the seat belts. They cut across my neck and are too tight. The back seat ones are especially bad.
