Underpowered but nice
If you want an SUV that has power both on and off road you may want to rethink this one. Acceleration is lacking and for six cylinders the gas mileage is also a bit skimpy. If those things don’t matter it’s a great vehicle! Wish they’d bring back the 4.7 V-8 as an option!!

Simply a well built beast
I own 2 4runners. Beyond subpar fuel economy it's a truly fantastic truck. If your tech freak this is not your car. Old technology that works very well with near flawless fit and finish and reliability.

Almost everything I wanted in a vehicle...
I love my new 4runner! It rides extremely smooth, looks great, performs well, and is something that I really enjoy driving. The road noise is very low, the interior is clean, the speaker system sounds great, and the suspension takes on anything that the road can throw at you. The only thing lacking would be the size/power of the engine. If you're looking for a car that accelerates quickly and "gets up and goes" this car might not be for you. The gas mileage is also not great, but it's what I expected with a larger SUV. If you're looking for more power you'd probably want to look at the Sequoia (also sacrificing additional gas mileage), but with the 3rd row of seats and the ability to sit 7-8 people I couldn't pass up the opportunity to get a 4runner. I definitely recommend looking at them if you're looking for something that can handle adverse conditions, off-road, and is also great for hauling a family around!

A TEST DRIVE MADE ME DO IT
I traded a '13 Durango in after a test drive. I loved my Durango. I kept it IMMACULATE. I had NO REASON to buy the 4Runner. But a gimmicky dealer sign in the window of the Runner said, "DEEP DISCOUNT DEMO" and I curiously asked, "what is your definition of deep discount?" They came in below the sticker by 7500 bucks. This is on a Limited 4x4. So then, after 2 test drives on different days, a bit of haggling on my Durango price, I was suddenly the owner of the coolest, most reliable, best trade in value vehicle in the past decade. Tech, schmeck, I don't get what else people need in techie garbage. It has climate control, heated/cooled seats, navigation, Bluetooth, heated mirrors, electronic fast defrost for wipers, electronic seats, proximity key & push button start, sun roof, power rear window, and auto headlights. I may have not listed everything, but unless you need a smart TV and a toilet, it's just perfect. Mileage is subpar, 20+ highway. Driving comfort is very nice, it sticks to the road in rain & snow, and visibility is good. It is very quiet on the road and it is just a good feeling, very driver friendly vehicle. I have added remote start, running boards and tinted glass. I also ceramic coated the paint. I ditched the factory floor mats and purchased the 3D Maxpider set from front to back. It's a keeper. I do not miss my Durango although I hope it's new owner appreciates it.
