2024 Subaru Forester Consumer Reviews

Automotive reviewers drive like car thieves!
Almost every review I've read in the Forester says the acceleration is slow. Well, if you consider the context in which this vehicle will be used, the acceleration is more than fine. I'm usually above the speed limit before I merge on the freeway without even trying. The average auto review journalist drives some pretty fast cars to review so their opinion is skewed. This ain't no BMW X5 and it's not trying to be. After owning my '23 Limited for a year and have 14k+ miles on it, I've had only 1 or 2 situations where I wished it had a turbo. Also, driving a CVT car is a little different than a traditional automatic. You have to sort of roll the accelerator or gradually press it and you get much better and faster results than just stomping on it.
Good enough
Lane centering should be tuneable for a driver, depending on driving style. Engine weakness is noticeable, but not as bad as many claim. The torque is applied in the right places, but no one is going to mistake it for a Tesla type (your choice of Tesla here). The visibility is impressive, though the seats are covered with a cheap fabric on my Base model and I am skeptical about how long the ergonomic support can last. The seat adjustment functions seem to be the industry standard. Electronic wizardry is straightforward.

Beautiful car!
I love the Forester! It’s a beautiful car and drives well. Not as much kick as a Mercedes, but it’s a different engine style so that’s not really what it’s made for. It’s really good at going up hills and has no trouble maintaining speed. One thing I don’t like is the display. At certain times of the day, the sun hits it at just the right angle to give off a huge glare. This should be fixed. And tbh, I really don’t need a touchscreen display in my car. I’d prefer one without.

Love my new ride!
Safety features are number one with Subarus. I am a real estate agent and often have clients ride with me. I feel good about their safety and comfort. It’s also an attractive vehicle. I’m still learning about all the bells and whistles—there are many—but so far, I am enjoying all the features!

So far, GREAT!!!
Wow!! I am impressed with this vehicle! It looks small from the outside but it will fool you. The inside is spacious. Plenty of leg room and head room even for tall people. Lots of great features. Rides well. The motor looks easy to work on and very accessible. Affordable vehicle and lots of bang for your buck. Great gas mileage too. Not disappointed so far!!
