Handles Great but Bad Acceleration
Love the handling and the fact you cannot get it stuck in the snow! I hate the fact that I get pushed while entering the on ramps with the pedal to the floor!! There is no power to this vehicle, it has me looking for an alternative AWD now....

Crossover to crosstrek!
(2019 Crosstrek Limited 31k) AWD with X mode and 8.7" of ground clearance that no other vehicle can match in its class. I'm getting 32.2 MPG MIXED DRIVING. Adaptive cruise control is wonderful! Pre-collision braking, Navigation, Eyesight, Lane departure, blindspot warning, back-up warning, Bluetooth, Android Auto, visual tire air and open door monitors, gorgeous wheels, and wonderful orange triple-stitched leather seats that I find more comfortable(with my bad back) than my loaded 2019 Outback (3.6R). I 've read about poor performance, but I have been very pleasantly surprised, including on the highway! It's my wife's car, but I find myself driving it as our #1 car!

Beware
The car should go straight down the highway.instead, it will veer to on coming traffic, you correct it ,then it veers to right side. In the snow, I was on Teton pass, in second about less then 20 miles per hours going down the mountain, the car veered to the left going around a curve,I slowly tried to correct it, it started to slide left. It was scary. Just purchased car, my car I took in and complained about it, thought maybe the tires needed alignment. They gave me another Subaru Crosstrek. It was doing the same thing. There is definitely a problem with these cars. These cars are dangerous on the highway.these cars should be recalled. Who do I call.

Unsure if I'm cursed or the car is
Fog lamp went out after a month. The right rear somehow broke & tore up that side. Headlight is fogging up. Calipers stick sometimes. Car not compatible with Google phones to play music. So far it's still better than the Chevy I had (less recalls), but same problem still, every month something breaks or stops working lol. Who ever passed my POV inspection & set it to a car dealership.... must've been hungover or mad at his wife lol.

Worst new car
Bought the brand new 2019 Subaru Crosstrek Hybrid Sept 2019 and have had nothing but problems. I have taken it in to the dealership 4 times for the same problem, driving a crappy loaner while making my car payment every month. I have had this brand new car in the dealer for almost 2 months at this point. You buy a Subaru for safety and dependability, and this has been nothing but a nightmare. Don’t buy.

Didn't Know I wanted this vehicle
I went in having never looked at Subaru. I test drove this model a couple of times. Loved the height of the vehicle over a traditional car. I added the Thule bike rack and that was a bonus. So glad I did. It feels roomy and spacious, just what I need.
Still Hoping To LUV Subaru
Dealer after dealer hyped Subaru EYESIGHT system. Apparently, they don't have Lane Centering like HONDA SENSING. Only now is Subaru working to roll it out over a protracted schedule. Needless to say, feel EXTREMELY unsafe compared to my other vehicle - 2018 CR-V AWD Touring

Avoid this car
Manual transmission - at low speeds the car accelerates and slows down on its own. This happens in 1st, 2nd and 3rd gears which results in a sloppy, uncomfortable ride. I’ve driven manual my entire life and was told by the local dealership and corporate that this was either normal or the result of user error. I will NEVER purchase a Subaru again. They are a horrible company to deal with.

Crosstrek hybrid is nonsense
Visited a Subaru dealer and am baffled why this version of a Subaru exists. 17-20 mile range on plug in electric. That's 8.5-10 round trip. Overall mpg is marginally better than the all-gas version. If you REALLY want a functional, high utility hybrid check out the RAV4. It's 2.5 miles up the road from the Subaru dealer and the visit was quite revealing. I really don't think the Subaru marketing and development people thought this product through.

Great Choice
Read a lot of reviews before I decided to go test drive a 2019 Crosstrek. I read reviews from experts and from consumers, especially about the 152 horsepower that the Crosstrek has. Most experts give low marks on the pickup of the Crosstrek. So I decided to test drive the Crosstrek from 2 different dealerships 25 miles apart, to drive on different areas. I’m not one of the so called experts, but I was more than impressed by the pickup, passing other vehicles, driving up inclines with the heat on. Not once did I feel any lag, nor was I worried about getting into traffic. Inside it has more than enough room, very comfortable and handles very well. So that being said, I’ve had my Crosstrek for a week, put over 500 miles on it, on highways, backroads, local driving and so forth. I’ve had know issues merging into traffic, or passing on a highway . Truly a fun car to drive. My wife was very surprised I bought the Crosstrek, at first she wasn’t impressed when she saw them on the road. One ride in it, and she loves it. If you’re not sure, take one for a test drive, I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised.

Crosstrek
I’ve had it for six months so far, and have driven it through every kind of weather. It not only gets the job done and, coming from someone with back issues, is comfortable enough to get you where you need to go.

MY 2019 Crosstrek Snow Experience review
Finally got to use my Crosstrek in a decent storm. My experience with winter driving has been 40+ years in the Sierra Mountains.trip 120 miles from Camino Ca to Silver Springs Nv during a severe storm - trip date Dec 7,2019 5pm left time. Pros --- Handle road condition great -1" per hour rain then turned to snow at higher elevation, great road performance didn't need to activate the Xmode Cons -- Lots of snow build up on front of vehicle causing. A.) Snow build up on headlight had to stop twice in an 60 mile span to clean them off B.) Fog lights didn't work because of snow build up C.) Eyesight stopped working didn't effect cars road performance D.) outside temp gauge stopped working stuck on 32 degrees E.) right side of windshield had snow build up due to the wiper blade was not long enough to reach

Should have gotten the Limited
Very nice car! Handles well, peppy, well equipped, but I would not buy gray again. If I were buying with what I know now I would probably lease the Limited instead. Some features I thought would not matter actually do matter, such as the keyless entry.

2019 Subaru Crosstrek
2019 Subaru Crosstrek is a SUV I love. It handles very well and it’s Eyesight has saved me from getting in accidents. The interior is nice and the seat are comfortable. The only down sides are that it’s acceleration is horrible and at highway speeds the wind noise is loud. But, over all it is a great SUV for anyone who does not care about beating that Mustang next to you at the light.

Met and Exceeded Expectations
I got a fully loaded 2019 Crosstrek Limited with moonroof, navigation, leather seats, etc. It is in pristine condition. When I test drove it I found it had plenty of power (unlike some of the negative reviews) and I thought it handled extremely well in traffic. Overall I am very happy with my purchase!

I drove an outback for years and this vehicle makes me feel every bit as safe. Really hugs the road with AWD . It’s extremely functional for all needs and looks great. More interior cabin space than I thought as well.

After 4 years, still my best car!!
After 4 years, I only went to the dealer to do the oil and filter service once a year. It is like a first day!! I love my Subaru, I like almost everything about him. Only the consumption is high for me and I would prefer an automatic box that is not a CVT. but they are not things that bother. There is still no car on the market that I like as much as this one. it's a lot of fun to drive and off the road gives me a lot of security. I love this car !!!

Great little car!
Bought this as a third car for our family. Perfect car for new drivers. The safety features have prevented a couple of small fender benders. Coming up on 2.5 years since purchase, the vehicle has been perfect with respect to reliability. I am 6-4" and have found the car has plenty of room for me. In fact, a friend with a F-150 was shocked by the legroom up front, more than his truck! The engine power is absolutely fine. Not every car needs to accelerate to 60 mph at blistering speed. Update Aug 2023 - Zero problems with the car since new. At 40k, new tires will be needed before winter as well as rear brake pads. Both probably have 5k more left in them. The rear pads are showing more wear than front since modern steering/handling control systems rely on rear brakes more than front to keep the car straight. I do my own maintenance including brakes. Brake parts for this Subaru are incredibly low cost compared to many modern cars.

First Subaru - won’t be the last!
Amazing car - practical, fun to drive, and very comfy. Coming from a long history of Hondas, I have found the Crosstrek to be a much better vehicle. I’ve read many reviews about the ‘trek being slow, but I have not found that to be true, even with my heavy foot. It has plenty of power.
Crosstrek is junk
The CVT transmission noise will drive you crazy and constant problems... Battery, radio, steering rack...
Barely Adequate
Cheaply made, cheap materials. Media is juvenile. Transmission is jerky. Turn signals broke after 1000 miles. Three years into it and right as the warranty expired the radio broke. Looking to get rid of this and buy anything else. Not a Subaru. Seems love doesn't make a quality car.

Good gass milage

Extra cool!
Absolutely love this car, suv, crossover…whatever it is it’s cool!!! It’s Safe, goes anywhere, good gas mileage…it’s got a good size touchscreen that easily connects to my phone ( Apple car play) ..I LOVE that the climate controls are big old school knobs, makes it super easy to control without taking my eyes off the road. And thank you Subaru for the mechanical pull parking break. ( I Don’t trust the new push button style ones on other new cars) Only cons: I wish it had a turbo option or something. Gas pedal isn’t super responsive . Not terrible but every once in a while I wish it had a little quicker acceleration.

Just bought my dream car
Subaru Crosstrek is a sporty, good looking car that is fun to drive. The interior is well laid out and user friendly. Victory Subaru in Somerset was a great place to buy the car. Staff were friendly, helpful and not too pushy. For the past year, I have been wanting to get this car.

Gas Guzzler!!
Bought the car recently, told it would get 36 mpg. (2019 with 6800 miles) I'm only getting 15 mpg. They say there is nothing wrong with the car. Had they been truthful when I bought it, I never would have bought a car with only 15 mpg. Now I have years of car payments and a car I am unhappy with.

The vehicle I never knew I wanted.
I am a Blue Oval Fan. I have been ever since I could remember. My Father and Mother owned all Ford vehicles and so have I. My wife had owned a couple Subaru Foresters and bought a 2019 Crosstrek, thinking she wanted to downsize. She was completely wrong. (big "I told you so" moment for me. So, I offered to take it so she could get a Forester. I got the Crosstrek with 5k and now I'm at 45k. I absolutely love this lifted hatch, even though I didnt really want to.Yes, power is lacking but it exceeds all other expectations(drove a loaner with the 2.5L, definitely get that engine option.)The AWD with Blizzak WS90 are unbeatable in Central New York snow. Never had so much confidence in bad weather. The SRH are a savior and the headlights are nice a bright for night. The dash screens look great, controls are easy and well laid out. Visibility is awesome, backup camera works great. Eyesight options and features all work very well. The storage is ok. There is a lack of a home for a smart phone connected to Andriod Auto (jack is in the console) The armrest is an odd shape and it seems the passenger gets more real estate on it. There is very little light in the cargo area. Other than those little things, it's great. The brand has won me over, reliable, fuel efficient, capable and meets all of my needs on commuting, long trips and the utility.

Subaru STARLINK is a deal breaker
The Crosstrek is a nice, simple, trouble-free car. But oddly not the best for winter climates. First, Subaru refuses to offer heated steering wheel in this model. Second, the STARLINK implementation is unreliable and Subaru does not equip cars with simple line-of-sight remote starting. I’ll soon replace my Crosstrek with a car with a heated steering wheel and factory equipped line-of-sight remote start

Pleased with the little orange pumpkin
Bought the 2019 Crosstrek w/CVT brand new for my wife. We now have about 60,000 miles on the vehicle. Crosstrek has been reliable, with absolutely zero issues. My wife loves the color and the sporty design. We got an 'offroad' package from the dealer which included Rally mud flaps, black Method wheels w/ BFG KO2 tires and a Thune luggage rack. Makes the little car (I drive a Toyota Tundra) look kinda bad-ass....my wife loves the look. The wheel/tire upgrade is a little noisy and does impact MPG a bit, but we only use this package in the winter/early spring months or if we go offroad. We have taken it out to our rural property in another state and it has handed open country driving, moderate hill climbs and unpaved jeep trails just fine. I did have to dig out the Crosstrek on a sharp hill crown, when it hung up a bit, delayed us maybe 10 minutes. All in all we are happy with the purchase, suits our needs and continues to be as reliable as the sunrise.
