Used 2006 Saturn VUE Consumer Reviews
Surprisingly a great vehicle!
We bought this car because my wife loved it and the mileage was far better than our '99 Isuzu Rodeo. Frankly, I wasn't sold until we took it on an 800+ mile trip to Myrtle Beach. Folks, this is THE most comfortable vehicle I have even driven for 15 hours! And, you wanna talk acceleration and mileage? I set the cruise and 250 HP let us blow right by other cars even climbing hills in PA. Oh and did I mention we got almost 30 miles per gallon? If you are in the market for a crossover SUV, do yourself a favor and make sure you check out the VUE!
Excellent
The Saturn VUE is a very comfortable and fun car to drive. Reliable, while not intimidating like some of the larger SUVs.

Nice and useful car
I have driven my VUE for 8000 miles, and so far so good, except an ignition switch problem (it didnt go all the times) repaired by the dealer. Gas consumption was very close to the spec: 22 mpg city, 26 expressways. It is very easy and pleasant to drive. Dimensions are OK for me, big enough to haul a small family around town (including baby stuffs) and roomier like other thirstier and more expensive SUVs. The front seats can be better; they have an uncomfortable haunch at the back. The new interior design is very good with a lot of standards. The power is adequate for a 2.2 L; dont expect a great performance at high speed. Dont forget the backup of the Saturn family.
Disappointments Keep Coming
The problems started from the day I got it home just 1 week ago. The roof racks make a terrible noise above 50 MPH (verified and acknowledged by service at Saturn Dealer) and no one makes an aftermarket rack for the VUE. I thought I was buying a trailer hitch for a 2006 but found they don't have one and the 2005 hitch requires the dealer to cut out the lower panel on the bumper. There are styrofoam structure SUPPORT(?) components throught the vehicle, even in the bumper. The vehicle makes a weird vibration when you cross over a speed bump. The first fill up resulted in a gas-guzzling 15.9 MPG (rated at 19/25). The storage area behind the driver's side front seat lined with foam rubber.
Big hybrid
It does not get what I had expected in gas mileage, I really only get about 15 miles to the gallon. I could have done better with a smaller engine or a smaller car. It's a nice car to drive and very comfotable. I think they are misleading in gas mileage numbers and real commuter driving. All the repairs parts cost a small fortune also as well as the initial cost is more.
