Used 2006 Saturn VUE Consumer Reviews
2nd Orange VUE
The VUE has some great pick up and go thanks to a 250hp engine mated with a 5 spd auto. Gas milage varies ofcourse with how you drive, but generally not to bad. Descent front and rear leg room. Cargo capacity is descent and with the second row down seems almost endless. I enjoy the new face and jeweled headlamps, that shine bright on a dark night. The new power drivers seat with lumbar is nice and the heated seats feel great, but the higher setting gets pretty warm. I did have the element in one seat replaced within one year of having the VUE. The VUE has an awesome turning radious and a great ride height. No complaints with the steering as some people whine about. Fun to drive, try it.
A different kind of SUV
The 2wd, 4-cyl model we are leasing is basically a station wagon on stilts. This is for hauling groceries and kids, not off-roading, which is fine, because that's what most folks use their SUV's for anyway. Before this, we had the V-6 L300, and the VUE feels underpowered in comparison, but it's an SUV that gets good gas milage. The reviewer commented on the cheapness of the interior, but that was the 2002 model. I think the brushed aluminum look in the 2006 model is very nice. The armrests on the front bucket seats are really the only plastic bits that seem cheap to me. For some reason, we have the woodgrain from the v-6 model on one of the doorhandles in the rear.

Trading it in Tomorrow Just 3000 miles
The last time I bought an American made car was in 1986. At that time I swore I would never buy one again due to the lack of quality craftmanship. And I made it twenty years until I saw the 2006 Saturn VUE. Love is blind! This vehicle, although it gives a comfortable ride, when it goes over a bump you get the feeling something is going to fall off, the dashboard is constantly creaking, and the road and wind noise are horrific. I brought it back to the dealer and was told that the road noise was pretty much a characteristic of the VUE. You can't use OnStar while the car is moving no one can hear you over the road noise. And oh, the gas mileage is awful.
Surprisingly a great vehicle!
We bought this car because my wife loved it and the mileage was far better than our '99 Isuzu Rodeo. Frankly, I wasn't sold until we took it on an 800+ mile trip to Myrtle Beach. Folks, this is THE most comfortable vehicle I have even driven for 15 hours! And, you wanna talk acceleration and mileage? I set the cruise and 250 HP let us blow right by other cars even climbing hills in PA. Oh and did I mention we got almost 30 miles per gallon? If you are in the market for a crossover SUV, do yourself a favor and make sure you check out the VUE!
Excellent
The Saturn VUE is a very comfortable and fun car to drive. Reliable, while not intimidating like some of the larger SUVs.
