Used 2005 Saturn VUE Consumer Reviews
Good But Not Great!
The price is what sold it, along with the good fuel economy for an AWD and the safety rating. The interior is a bit skimpy. Not very many compartments for stuff. Also the drink holders in the front are not very convenient. You have to nearly bend over to the side to get to your drink and you have to look at it which can't be very safe. It wouldn't take much to make this a great car.

alternative to CR-V
After seriously considering the CR-V and Element from Honda, the option to get a Honda-made V6 renewed our interest in the Vue. This is our second Saturn ('98 SL2), and I can say that the designers have improved on earlier deficiencies- better soundproofing. Nice gauge cluster with aluminum trim. Center controls (small buttons) will be tested with winter gloves - but probably not too much, as the heat is quick & heated seats are toasty. It's a quality car for the money. I'm hoping for Honda gas mileage, but not seeing it yet (21 ave MPG). Roomy rear seats, easy to fold down, cargo bin functional, but seems cheap (plastic interior comments are true, but it's not a Lexus); tight ride.
Super convenient vehicle
This vehicle is a pleasure to drive. It is easy to get into, and to egress. (very important for older individuals) I have heard that the Saturn Vue has mushy steering. I personaly find the steering to be as good as, if not better than, many vehicles I have tried. Acceleration is great (V6), and more than adequate for cross country traveling, and getting out of tight situations. The VUE feels good to drive and is comfortable. I would really recommend the VUE for the more mature set.
Great Value!
The Saturn sales process is quite painless. I enjoyed the experience. My new Vue fits my urban neighborhood, and allows us to take our dogs, friends and gear to the mountains, beach, etc. Granted, we'll never be 'Off-Road Enthusiasts', but we can get away far enough for our needs. Driveability is excellent with (in my opinion) the best acceleration in it's class. I test drove many comparable SUV's, and felt the Vue best suited me.
