My wife loves it - I hate it

This is our second Saturn, and I liked the first one better. This one is an automatic and much more of a dog. The A/C is very week and has to run near high all of the time in the summer. The car also has a lot of vibration at idle. The car also has a lot of annoying rattles (mostly interior panels). However, because the passenger compartment is so loud you can't hear them over the deafening engine noise. However, to its credit, the car has been reliable. I guess that's all you can reasonably expect out of a cheap car.

I have had nothing wrong with this car since I bought it used in 2000. It gets great gas milage and is a comfortable ride. I am always getting compliments on it and every time I take it to the dealer for an oil change the wash my car and leave a carnation on my dashboard. I've never had that happen before! However, I had a Toyota Celica before I got my Saturn and Toyota's & Saturn's do not drive a like. It took me a while to get used to driving the Saturn, it doesn't drive as smoothly as a Toyota does.

Reliable and Safe!

Bought the car for 800 as is and only needed a muffler for a sticker. Didn't come with power steering but cause the car only weighed 2,300 lbs I didn't even need P/S! All the parts for it were cheap, plugs and wires cost me 30 bucks at most. Very easy to work on too! lots of room in the engine bay. Had to change the motor (might have over rev it.) Great on gas too! I got 36 MPG@70 mph! IT also handled great with the multi link suspension in the rear makes the back roads fun and with confidence! Sadly it was totaled in a crash but my friend and I walked away unharmed. By far most reliable and safest car out there!

i like my saturn SC2. it has served me well. i hope to drive it until it dies out. in the past 4 years the only problems i have had was a cracked radiator and my sunroof motor died. otherwise it has been a good car and has great gas mileage.
