15 years of Saturn
I've had this car since 1995. I've driven it to every state, except Alaska and Hawaii, lived out of it for months at a times- sometimes with my wife and dog- at with over 334,000 miles on it, the thing just won't die. I've been rear ended twice, done usual maintenance on my own, but original engine, compressor, manual transmission etc. I started replacing everything with performance parts after 200k because I was sure it would die by then, but now I'm not sure if it ever will.
Love my Saturn
I am second owner of my Saturn. Has done great for the past four years. Great gas mileage and good car for Winter driving. Always starts with no problem. Only had some brake work done recently and new battery. Keep oil changed every 3000 miles. Am keeping this car until I decide to buy another Saturn. They are very reliable and Saturn dealers are great to work with. I even bought my daughter a '92 Saturn with over 100,000 miles. She drove it for over a year and then wanted a Ford Explorer--big mistake - now she is wanting a Saturn again because the Explorer is having repairs over and over!! Stick with Saturn!!
Very nice little car
A solid, lightweight little car that gets good gas mileage, handles well, and never gets dinged doors. The styling has character, the interior is comfortable if slightly eccentric, and it's made in America.
1995 SL1 Saturn
I've had my 1995 Saturn SL1 for 6 1/2 years, and all I've ever had to have done as far as maintenance is just the regular oil changes, and replacing the battery after almost 6 years. It's been a wonderful car!
Very reliable
We purchased our SL1 new in 1995. We now have 105,000 miles and have only had to get new tires, a muffler and front brake pads. I will say that the car is starting to burn some oil, so that is disappointing, but it only appears to be about 1.5 quarts every 3000 miles. Aside from that, we have been quite satisfied with the vehicle.
