Used 2015 Ram ProMaster Cargo Van Consumer Reviews
2017 is a total piece of trash!
Seems like 2000 miles is all most of these mexico vans can get before trouble. Transmission, engine, electronics, doors falling off hinges, oil leak all before 2000 miles. Service is non existant and far and few available. I should have believed all the negative reviews, I do now. Dealer offered a buy back of 20,000 for my 30,000 van! Thanks for the Mexican hunk of junk...

Stay Away
In 17,000 miles it has been in the shop 4 times. There is absolutely no legroom very uncomfortable on long trips.very poor left the right visibility. A pillars blocks mirror visibility. Steering wheel only telescopic adjustment , your knee will hit the steering wheel when braking. The diesel engine Lacks power it cannot get out of its own way. This is a very dangerous vehicle due to its poor visibility and lack of power and handling.

RUN FOR THE HILLS
Bought a 15’ with 60K miles Now has 125K miles; here is the list of repairs I’ve done: Engine rebuilt at 90K (just made it under warranty by 3 months because its a 15’. Would have been $7K to fix *Dodge went and lowered the powertrain warranty after 2015 to 60K on these (should be a red flag) Transmission rebuilt at 125K (not under warranty; $6K to fix) Oil Pump Code at 125K (not sure if its the sensor or pump itself anywhere from $500-$2,500 repair depending) Radiator cooling fan replaced at 90K ($1.5K to fix) Engine is still loud and sounds like a diesel. Engine still rattles and shakes (also smells like antifreeze for some reason) Running over bumps the steering wheel/front end shakes, vibrates and wobbles after replacing struts, mounts, shocks, tie rods, shafts and column ($3K+ to solve nothing) Headlight bulbs blow out constantly because condensation gets behind the lenses shorting them out (go with cheap aftermarket bulbs, used to use OEM but either way you will replace them every 2,000 miles so mine as well save some money to put towards more repairs) Cheap plastic interior and rear door hinges are garbage - basically useless. Uncomfortable hard seats. Couldn’t be bothered to give the passenger seat an armrest. Radio catches (3) stations if you happen to park right outside the broadcasting studio. Door cables snap constantly. Keep in mind I maintain this truck and don’t beat on it. Good luck getting an inspection sticker. In the shop 2 weeks out of every month, then throws another costly code a week later. Body design is great; scrap the rest of it. Switching back to Chevy Express. I’d rather stoop over in a Chevy then stand up in a Promaster. Transits are no better. Buddy of mine replaced his transmission at 40K miles. Will not be refinancing my house to maintain this van. Hopefully the next owner is happy because I’ve already done every expensive repair that could go wrong - I think. RUN FOR THE HILLS 🏃♂️🏃🏃♀️ Ram Promaster

Don't buy unless you have back up van
I have a diesel high top 2500 terrible electronical issues, all service light's will come on and immediately engine cuts off very dangerous. Been towed to dealer over 5 times with no fix only told it was buggy software and now new program should have it fixed. As of right now van is not running issues started at 17000 miles and still at 45000 van not drivable. Replace drivers side head light every few months, so often I just purchased little bag with tools to repair the bulbs. I purchased new and no support from fca or dealership I purchased from. I highly recommend not purchase 2015 model I have knowledge of any other years
Travato Upfit of 3500EXT, wonderful
We put over 51,000 miles on our Travato (2016 Winnebago model year, 2015 ProMaster chassis). Not a single chassis issue. Replaced the OEM tires at 39K miles before an extended trip. Brakes still fine at 51K. Traded for a newer Travato (2019 Winnebago, 2018 ProMaster chassis).
